ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION
- INSPECT CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY Connect the Techstream to the DLC3. Turn the Techstream on. Set the vehicle to inspection mode (maintenance mode). Refer to «INSPECTION MODE PROCEDURE»(/toyota/prius-c/i-2011-2015/remont/hoistjack/#introduction) . Start the engine. Inspect the oil control valve. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Active Test / Control the VVT System (Bank 1). Check the engine speed when the oil control valve is operated using the Techstream with the engine coolant temperature at 50°C (122°F) or less. HINT: When performing the Active Test, the air conditioning should be on. Engine coolant temperature when the engine is started should be 30°C (86°F) or less. INSTALLATION
- INSTALL CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY Apply a light coat of engine oil to a new O-ring and install it onto the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly. TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION *1 O-ring NOTE: Do not twist the O-ring. Install the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly and wire harness bracket with the bolt. Torque: 7.5 N*m (76 kgf*cm, 66 in.*lbf) Connect the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly connector.

- REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY Disconnect the ventilation hose. Disconnect the purge VSV. Disconnect the mass air flow meter connector. Disconnect the wire harness clamp. Release the 2 clamps. Loosen the hose clamp and remove the air cleaner cap sub-assembly.
- REMOVE THROTTLE BODY WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY Disconnect the throttle body with motor connector and the 2 water by-pass hoses. Remove the 3 bolts. Remove the throttle body with motor assembly. Remove the gasket from the intake manifold.

- INSTALL AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY Install the air cleaner hose sub-assembly and lock the hose clamp. Connect the mass air flow meter connector. Connect the purge VSV. Connect the ventilation hose.

- PERFORM INITIALIZATION NOTE: Be sure to perform this procedure after reassembling the throttle body assembly, removing and reinstalling any throttle body component or replacing the ECM. Turn the power switch on (IG) without operating the accelerator pedal. NOTE: If the accelerator pedal is operated, perform the above step again. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3 and clear the DTCs See step 1 . Perform "Inspection After Repair". Remove the nut. Remove the 4 screws, ECM cover and No. 2 ECM bracket.

- INSTALL ECM Install the ECM cover and No. 2 ECM bracket with the 4 screws. Torque: 3.0 N*m (31 kgf*cm, 27 in.*lbf) Install the nut. Torque: 8.0 N*m (82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf) Install the ECM with the bolt and nut. Torque: 8.0 N*m (82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf) Connect the 2 ECM connectors and lower the 2 levers. - INSPECT MASS AIR FLOW METER Read the values using the Techstream (MAF). NOTE: Perform the inspection with the vehicle indoors and on a level surface. Perform the inspection of the mass air flow meter while it is installed into the air cleaner case (installed on the vehicle). During the test, do not use an exhaust air duct on the exhaust pipe. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3. Turn the ignition switch to ON (IG) (do not run the engine). Turn the Techstream on. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Data List / MAF. Wait 30 seconds, and read the values on the Techstream. - INSTALL AIR FUEL RATIO SENSOR Using SST, install the air fuel ratio sensor. TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION *a Fulcrum Length 30 mm (1.18 in.) *b Fulcrum Length 260 mm (10.2 in.) SST: 09224-00010 without SST Torque: 44 N*m (449 kgf*cm, 32 ft.*lbf) with SST Torque: 39 N*m (398 kgf*cm, 29 ft.*lbf) NOTE: The "with SST" torque value is effective when using SST with a fulcrum length of 30 mm (1.18 in.) and a torque wrench with a fulcrum length of 260 mm (10.2 in.). Refer to «PRECAUTION»(/toyota/prius-c/i-2011-2015/remont/hoistjack/#introduction) . The "with SST" torque value is effective when SST is parallel to the torque wrench. HINT: Perform "Inspection After Repair" after replacing the air fuel ratio sensor. Standard Resistance Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition 1 (HT1B) - 2 (+B) 20°C (68°F) 11 to 16 ohms 1 (HT1B) - 4 (E2) - 10 kohms or higher If the result is not as specified, replace the heated oxygen sensor.

- REMOVE NO. 1 INTEGRATION RELAY Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the 2 claws and disconnect the No. 1 integration relay. Disconnect the 3 connectors and remove the No. 1 integration relay.
