FREEZE FRAME DATA [12/2013 - ]

  1. FREEZE FRAME DATA When a DTC is stored, the 4WD ECU assembly stores the current vehicle state as Freeze Frame Data. HINT: Freeze Frame Data at the time a DTC is stored: When the 4WD ECU assembly stores data at the time a DTC is stored, no updates will be performed until the data is cleared. "Number of IG ON" is not stored as Freeze Frame Data.
  2. CHECK FREEZE FRAME DATA Connect the Techstream to the DLC3. Turn the ignition switch to ON. Turn the Techstream on. Enter the following menus: Chassis / Four Wheel Drive / Trouble Codes. Chassis > Four Wheel Drive > Trouble Codes According to the display on the Techstream, select the trouble code data display with Freeze Frame Data. Chassis > Four Wheel Drive Tester Display Measurement Item Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note Vehicle Speed Maximum wheel speed sensor reading Min.: 0 km/h (0 mph) Max.: 326 km/h (202 mph) Vehicle stopped: 0 km/h (0 mph) No large fluctuations when driving at a constant speed. FAIL-SAFE CHART [12/2013 - ]

  1. FAIL-SAFE FUNCTION If the following malfunctions occur, the 4WD ECU assembly will stop the function of the dynamic torque control AWD system or partly change the function to control the system. If a malfunction occurs in the sensor signal or actuator, the flow of electricity to the 4WD linear solenoid of the electro magnetic control coupling sub-assembly is prohibited. As a result, the system enters front wheel drive condition. When a component of the system malfunctions and the fail-safe function activates, the component operation is prohibited. However, if the system is controlling the component and the fail-safe function activates, the system operation is gradually stopped to prevent sudden changes in the vehicle condition. When system control is not possible, a warning message is displayed to indicate that system operation has stopped.
