- Power Window Operation Mode NOTE: Initial condition that the customizing function by hand-held tester is not chosen is shown. Standard
- Power Window Fail-Safe Function When an abnormality is detected in the limit switch and pulse sensor for operating the jam protection function (DTC: B1231/31, B1232/32), the following power window operations will be prohibited for fail-safe. Standard: NOTE: In case of normal limit switch, prohibition (fail-safe function) will be cancelled by fully opening the door glass that is fully closed by manual operation, then AUTO operation will be possible.
- Check Hand-Held Tester ECU Data Monitor: Using the hand-held tester, make a judgement of good or bad and find out a malfunctioning part by the ECU data monitor. Standard: Door ECU (Driver's Side) (Switch Condition) Door ECU (Driver's Side) (Jam Protection Threshold) NOTE: * : "CAUTION" is indicated when something is detected being caught in the window. Active Test: Using the hand-held tester, make a judgement of good or bad and find out a malfunctioning part by the active test. Standard: Door ECU (Driver's Side) Customizing Function (reference): Using the hand-held tester, select the following controls on power window. Standard: Door ECU (Driver's Side)

- Diagnosis Trouble Code Door ECU (Driver's Side)
- Monitor Code NOTE: Monitor code shows the switch condition when a DTC is output. When a code is indicated while the switch is not operated, the switch is detected being stuck. When a code is not indicated while the switch is operated, it is detected that the switch contact condition is bad.

- Power Window Regulator Master Switch Assembly (DOOR ECU) Inspect the door ECU. Disconnect the master switch connector. Inspect the voltage and continuity of each terminal of the vehicle's side connector. Standard: NOTE: If the value is not as specified, there may be a malfunction in the vehicle's side. Connect the connector, and inspect the voltage between each terminal of the connector. Standard: NOTE: If the value is not as specified, the door ECU or communication line may be defective.
- Multiplex Network Body ECU Inspect the body ECU. Disconnect the body ECU connectors A, B, C and D.

Problem Symptoms
Circuit Description
This DTC is output when any switch of the power window regulator master switch is ON.
Scheme 17
Inspection Procedure
- Check Power Window Regulator Master Switch Assembly Check if code B1221 will disappear but only B1211 (communication stop) will be output when the power window regulator master switch assembly connector is disconnected. A : Replace Multiplex Network Body ECU B : Replace Power Window Regulator Master Switch Assembly
This DTC is output when the power window regulator motor assembly malfunctions.
Scheme 18
Master switch assembly (door ECU) controls the driver's side power window by itself and drive the driver's side power window motor.
Note. Power window system has a function with a large-scale body multiplex communication. First of all, inspect the communication function depending on "how to proceed with troubleshooting" and confirm that the communication system has no abnormality, then finally perform the troubleshooting.
With the ignition switch ON and the window lock switch NORMAL (except driver's seat), each regulator switch drives each power window motor.
Note. Power window system has a function with a large-scale body multiplex communications. First of all, inspect the communication function depending on the "how to proceed with troubleshooting", and check there is no abnormality in the communication system. Then finally proceed with the troubleshooting.
When the ignition switch is ON, the master switch (door ECU) sends a remote switch signal for the other seats multiply to the body ECU then the body ECU drive's the power window motor for the other seats.
Note. Power window system has a function with a large-scale body multiplex communications. First of all, inspect the communication function depending on the "how to proceed with troubleshooting", and check there is no abnormality in the communication system. Then finally proceed with the troubleshooting.
