PRECAUTION [08/2013 - ]

  1. PRECAUTION FOR DISCONNECTING CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL NOTE: When disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal, initialize the following system after the cable is reconnected: System See Procedure Air Conditioning System (for Automatic Air Conditioning System) Refer to «INITIALIZATION [08/2013 - ]»(ref-635429-S20696467122014070300000)
  2. EXPRESSIONS OF IGNITION SWITCH The type of ignition switch used on this model differs depending on the specifications of the vehicle. The expressions listed in the table below are used in this article. Expression Switch Type Ignition Switch (Position) Engine Switch (Condition) Ignition Switch off LOCK Off (Lock) Ignition Switch ACC ACC On (ACC) Ignition Switch ON ON On (IG) Engine Start START On (Start)
  3. PRECAUTION FOR HEADLIGHT BULB REPLACEMENT If even a thin film of oil is left on the surface of a halogen bulb, its service life will be shortened because the light will burn at a higher temperature. When replacing a bulb, be sure to hold the flanged part of the light so that your hand does not contact the glass part of the bulb. Always prepare a new bulb for immediate replacement. While replacing the bulb, the lens may attract dust and moisture if removed from the vehicle for a long time. Always replace a bulb with another bulb of the same wattage. If only replacing the bulb on one side, differences in brightness and lighting color between the right and left sides may occur. Securely install the socket after bulb replacement. The lens may become cloudy or the light cavity may be filled with water through gaps around the socket if it is not installed securely.

FAIL-SAFE CHART [08/2013 - ]

  1. LED HEADLIGHT SYSTEM The light control LED ECU operates in fail-safe mode if any of the following abnormal conditions are detected. Item Abnormality Detection Condition Return Condition Abnormal input voltage (High input voltage) Abnormal power source voltage (more than 17 V) is detected. Normal power source voltage (10 to 16 V) is detected. Abnormal input voltage (Low input voltage)*1 If the power source voltage is too low (8.5 to 10 V), LED output current will be limited. (Headlights will remain illuminated.) Output current limit is canceled when the voltage returns to the specified operating voltage (10 to 16 V). If the power source voltage is too low (below 6 V), headlight operation will stop. If the voltage returns to 8.5 V or more, headlight operation will resume. Abnormal output Open in output side circuit Short between output terminal and body ground Short between output terminals (Hi and Lo) Light control switch is turned from off to the head position. *1: When the headlights are on and the input voltage is between 6 and 10 V, the headlights dim.
  2. AUTOMATIC LIGHT CONTROL SYSTEM If the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) detects a malfunction in the automatic light control sensor, the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) performs fail-safe control to prohibit the automatic light control. If the low beam headlights and taillights are on, the lights will remain on until the light control switch is turned off.
