Using Door Indicator Light
- Open door and determine that DOOR OPEN indicator lights up. If indicator does not light up, repair indicator before diagnosing multiplex control system. See INSTRUMENT PANELS - CARS article. If DOOR OPEN indicator does light up, go to next step.
- Using jumper wire, connect DLC1 terminals Tc and E1 together. Observe DOOR OPEN indicator flashing sequence. If no DTCs are stored, indicator will flash 2 times a second. If a DTC is stored, first number of DTC will flash, then a 1.5 second pause will occur, then the second number of DTC will flash. If more than one DTC is stored, a 4.5 second pause will occur, then next DTC will flash.
