  1. DO NOT HANDLE REFRIGERANT IN AN ENCLOSED AREA OR NEAR AN OPEN FLAME.
  2. ALWAYS WEAR EYE PROTECTION
  3. BE CAREFUL NOT TO GET LIQUID REFRIGERANT IN YOUR EYES OR ON YOUR SKIN If liquid refrigerant gets in your eyes or on your skin: Wash the area with lots of cold water. CAUTION: Do not rub your eyes or skin. Apply clean petroleum jelly to the skin. Go immediately to a hospital or see a physician for professional treatment.

  5. BE CAREFUL NOT TO DROP CONTAINER OR APPLY PHYSICAL SHOCKS TO IT
  6. DO NOT OPERATE COMPRESSOR WITHOUT ENOUGH REFRIGERANT IN REFRIGERANT SYSTEM If there is not enough refrigerant in the A/C system, oil lubrication will be insufficient and the compressor may be damaged. Necessary care should be taken to avoid this.
  7. DO NOT OPEN HIGH PRESSURE MANIFOLD VALVE WHILE COMPRESSOR IS OPERATING Open and close only the low pressure valve. If the high pressure values are opened, refrigerant flows in the reverse direction causing the charging cylinder to rupture. If the high pressure valve is opened, refrigerant flows in the reverse direction causing the charging cylinder to rupture.
  8. BE CAREFUL NOT TO OVERCHARGE SYSTEM WITH REFRIGERANT If refrigerant is overcharged, it causes problems such as insufficient cooling, poor fuel economy, engine overheating, etc.
  9. GENERAL PRECAUTION While using the battery during inspection, do not bring the positive and negative tester probes too close to each other as a short circuit may occur.

ACTUATOR CHECK

  1. ACTUATOR CHECK Start the engine and warm it up. Perform the indicator check (See «CHECK MODE PROCEDURE»(ref-280565-S05295149072008022200000) ). Push the "R/F" switch to perform the actuator check. HINT: Be sure to perform the actuator check after starting the engine. As the actuator check is repeated from steps 1 to 10 at 1 second intervals, check the temperature and air flow visually and by hand. HINT: The display blinks at 1 second intervals in the step operation. As an example, the see scheme 30 shows that display code 21 is output. Push the "OFF" switch to finish panel diagnosis. Push the "AUTO" switch to enter the sensor check mode.   1. PERFORM ACTUATOR CHECK Operate the A/C control panel to enter the actuator check mode (See «ACTUATOR CHECK»(ref-280565-S20309190522008022200000) ). Press the blower switch and change it to the step operation. Check the air flow temperature by hand.   2. INSPECT FUSE (HTR NO. 2) Remove the HTR No. 2 fuse from the engine room R/B. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in «FUSE (HTR NO. 2)»(ref-280565-S21044159102008022200000).   3. INSPECT BLOWER WITH FAN MOTOR SUB-ASSEMBLY Remove the blower with fan motor sub-assembly. Connect the battery positive (+) lead to terminal 2 and the battery negative (-) lead to terminal 1. OK: Blower motor operates smoothly. NG: REPLACE BLOWER WITH FAN MOTOR SUB-ASSEMBLY OK: GO TO NEXT STEP
  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEATER BLOWER MOTOR RELAY - BLOWER MOTOR CONTROL) Check for open and short circuit in the harness and the connector between the blower motor relay and the blower motor control (See «ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE»(ref-280562-S30988147692008022200000) ). NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR OK: GO TO NEXT STEP
  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BLOWER MOTOR CONTROL - BODY GROUND) Check for open and short circuit in the harness and the connector between the blower motor control and body ground (See «ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE»(ref-280562-S30988147692008022200000) ). NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR OK: GO TO NEXT STEP
  6. INSPECT AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER (BLW) Remove the A/C amplifier with the connectors still connected. Turn the ignition switch ON. Set the blower speed to LO. Measure the waveform between terminal A16-3 (BLW) of the A/C amplifier and body ground. OK: Waveform appears (Scheme 221) HINT: Waveform varies with the blower level. NG: REPLACE AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER OK: GO TO NEXT STEP
  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BLOWER MOTOR CONTROL - A/C AMPLIFIER) Check for open and short circuit in the harness and the connector between the blower motor control and the A/C amplifier (See «ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE»(ref-280562-S30988147692008022200000) ). NG: REPLACE AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER OK: REPLACE BLOWER MOTOR CONTROL
