Installation

Reverse removal procedure for installation.

Make sure to follow HEADLIGHT AIMING WITH SCREEN and aim headlight after installation.

HEADLIGHT BULB REPLACEMENT

Scheme 17

1. Disconnect negative (-) cable at battery.
2. Disconnect harness from bulb.
3. Remove socket cover and bulb.
4. Replace bulb and install in reverse removal procedure.

1. Disconnect negative (-) cable at battery.
2. Disconnect combination switch lead wire couplers.
3. Use a circuit tester to check the continuity at each switch position. If any continuity is not obtained, replace switch.

HEADLIGHT SWITCH (IN COMBINATION SWITCH) REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

1. Disconnect negative cable (-) at battery.
2. Disconnect combination switch lead wire.
3. Use a circuit tester to check the continuity at each switch position. If any continuity is not obtained, replace switch.

TURN SIGNAL SWITCH (IN COMBINATION SWITCH) REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

Refer to CONTACT COIL AND COMBINATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY , Removal and Installation.

1. Apply parking brake and stop engine. With turned on lighting switch and operated dimmer switch, check headlights come on.
2. Start engine.
3. With released parking brake but apply foot brake, turn lighting switch at either "OFF" or "SMALL" position, check headlights come on.
4. With applied parking brake, check headlights go out.
5. If check result is OK in above step 1), 3) and 4), D.R.L. system is OK. If malfunction is found, go to next step 6).
6. Disconnect negative cable (-) at battery.
7. Disconnect D.R.L. controller coupler and connect negative cable at battery.
8. Check that the voltage and resistance between the following terminals are specifications. If check result is not satisfactory, repair.
9. If check result of Step 8) is OK, replace controller and recheck.

1. Turn ignition switch to ON position and release parking brake and turn lighting switch to OFF position.
2. Cover the sensor lens of auto-on headlight controller (1) with a hand and check headlights come ON after 5 seconds. If headlights do not come ON, go to Step 4 .
3. Light the sensor lens of auto-on headlight controller (1) with a light (2) and check headlights go out after 20 seconds. If headlights do not go out, go to Step 4). If check result is of Step 1) to 3) is OK, this system is OK.
4. Disconnect auto-on headlights controller coupler (1) with ignition switch OFF.
5. Check the voltage between terminals are as follows. If check result is not satisfactory, repair and recheck. Auto-on headlight system circuit specification Terminal G34-6 and G34-1 (ignition switch OFF): 0 V Terminal G34-6 and G34-1 (Ignition switch ON): 10 - 14 V Terminal G34-6 and G34-4: 10 - 14 V Terminal G34-6 and G34-5: 10 - 14 V
6. If check result of step 5) is OK, replace controller and recheck.

Scheme 27

1. Remove meter cluster (1).
2. Pull hazard switch (2) out of instrument panel.
3. Disconnect coupler from hazard switch (2).
4. Remove hazard switch (2).

Reverse removal procedure.
