Engine Control Module (ECM) Installation
Note. If ECM is replaced with new one (VIN data is still not registered) or with used one (VIN data of other vehicle has been registered previously), make sure that re-register VIN in ECM by performing VIN Registration so that VIN can be read by a scan tool.
Scheme 3
- Installation should follow the removal procedure in the reverse order.
- Install the ECM. Tighten: Tighten the ECM retaining nuts to 10 - 14 N.m (89 - 124 lb-in.).
- Tighten the ECM bracket nuts. Tighten: Tighten the ECM bracket nuts to 10 - 14 N.m (89 - 124 lb-in.).
VIS Vacuum Tank Removal
- Remove the vacuum hose.
- Remove the VIS solenoid.
- Remove the VIS vacuum tank.
VIS Vacuum Tank Installation
- Installation should follow the removal procedure in the reverse order.
- Install the VIS vacuum tank. Tighten: Tighten the VIS vacuum tank retaining bolts to 7 - 9 N.m (62 - 80 lb-in.).
Scheme 4
- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Disconnect the vacuum hose from the VIS actuator.
- Remove the VIS actuator and the VIS valve. NOTE: Make sure the VIS valve flap is closed before removing the VIS valve.
Scheme 5
- Installation should follow the removal procedure in the reverse order.
- Install the VIS valve and the VIS actuator. Tighten: Tighten the VIS valve retaining bolts to 10 - 13 N.m (89 - 115 lb-in.). Tighten the VIS actuator retaining bolts to 10 - 13 N.m (89 - 115 lb-in.).
