Installation

For installation, reverse removal procedure noting the following.

1. Apply gasoline to O-ring of EVAP leak check module.
2. Install EVAP canister with EVAP leak check module referring to «EVAP CANISTER REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-514580-S02315308102012112100000) .

Reverse removal procedure for installation noting the following.

1. When installing hoses, do not apply soap, grease or oil to insertion part.
2. For quick joint, push joint into pipe till joint lock clicks and check that quick joint does not pull out without unlocking joint lock.

Removal

1. Remove engine cover, see «AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-514568-S42483472292012112100000) .
2. Disconnect PCV hose from PCV valve.
3. Remove PCV valve from cylinder head cover.

Reverse removal procedure for installation noting the following.

Scheme 33

1. Apply sealant to thread part of PCV valve (1).
2. Tighten PCV valve to specified torque. Tightening torque PCV valve (a): 2.5 N.m (0.25 kg-m, 2.0 lbf-ft)
3. Connect PCV hose to PCV valve securely.

1. Remove PCV valve referring to «PCV VALVE REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-514580-S25245557662012112100000)
2. Connect PCV valve to hose and install plug to cylinder head cover hole.
3. Run engine at idle.
4. Place your finger over end of PCV valve (1) to check for vacuum. If there is no vacuum, check for clogged valve. Replace as necessary.
5. After checking vacuum, stop engine and remove PCV valve (1). Shake valve and listen for rattle of check needle inside the valve. If valve does not rattle, replace PCV valve.
6. After checking, remove plug and install PCV valve referring to «PCV VALVE REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-514580-S25245557662012112100000) .
7. Install engine cover, see «AIR CLEANER COMPONENTS»(ref-514568-S20933595232012112100000) .
