COMPONENT LOCATIONS
- Turn ignition on. Check system related fuses. See «COMPONENT LOCATIONS»(ref-5069-S41379106502000080300000) table. Replace fuses as necessary and check for short to ground. See «WIRING DIAGRAMS»(ref-5069-S06060666282000080300000) . Ensure battery voltage exists at both circuit breaker terminals. If voltage does not exist at either terminal, inspect and repair circuit as needed. If voltage exists at both circuit breaker terminals, go to next step.
- Remove master power window switch. Using voltmeter, ensure voltage exists at harness connector Blue wire (Esteem) or Blue/White wire (Grand Vitara and Vitara). If voltage does not exist, inspect and repair Blue wire or Blue/White wire circuit as needed. If voltage exists, go to next step.
- Using DVOM, check for continuity between master power window switch harness connector Black wire and vehicle ground. If continuity exists, replace master power window switch. If continuity does not exist, inspect and repair Black wire circuit as needed.
Remove suspect power window switch from door panel. Perform appropriate component test. See COMPONENT TESTS . If switch does not test as specified, replace suspect power window switch. If switch tests as specified, diagnose each inoperative window separately. See ONE WINDOW MOTOR DOES NOT OPERATE .
