DRL System Operation Inspection

Apply parking brake.
Confirm that lighting switch is OFF or CLEARANCE position.
Confirm that dimmer switch is low beam position.
Check the following operation: When starting engine, headlight doesn't light. When applying foot brake and releasing parking brake, headlights turn on at low beam. When turning dimmer switch to high beam, headlights remain tuning on at low beam.

If check result is not satisfied, go to DRL SYSTEM CIRCUIT INSPECTION .

Scheme 5: DRL System Circuit Inspection

Disconnect negative (-) cable at battery.
Remove glove box (1) from instrument panel (2) as shown.
Disconnect DRL connector (3).
Connect negative (-) cable at battery.
Check that voltage and resistance between the following terminals and body ground are specifications under each conditions. If check result is OK, replace DRL controller. If check result is not as specified, repair circuit.

Scheme 7: Removal

Disconnect negative (-) cable at battery.
Remove front bumper. Refer to «FRONT BUMPER AND REAR BUMPER COMPONENTS»(ref-251107-S10961227522007032000000) .
Remove headlight mounting bolts and clip.
Detach headlight housing (1) from vehicle.
Disconnect couplers (2) from headlight housing (1).
