INSPECTION
- Check that the air cleaner element has no deformation, cracks or other damages.
- Check the air cleaner element for excessive dirt.
- Replace the air cleaner case (rear) if the HC absorption filter is damaged.

- Disconnect the ground cable from battery.
- Remove the air intake duct. < Refer to «REMOVAL»(ref-560358-S09391633272013061300000) , Air Intake Duct. >
- Disconnect the connector (A) from the mass air flow and intake air temperature sensor, and remove the clip (B).
- Loosen the clamp (A) which connects the air cleaner case (rear) and air intake boot, and then remove the clip (B) from the air cleaner case (front).
- Remove the air cleaner case (rear) and air cleaner element.
- Remove the bolt (A) and nut (B) which secure the air cleaner case (front) to the body.
- Remove the air cleaner case (front).
- Check that the air cleaner case has no deformation, cracks or other damages.
- Check that the air intake boot has no cracks, damage or loose part.
Scheme 428
- Remove the clip (A) from the air intake boot.
- Loosen the clamp (B) connecting the air intake boot and air cleaner case (rear).
- Loosen the clamp (C) which connects the air intake boot and throttle body.
- Disconnect the PCV hose and remove the air intake boot.
- Check that the air intake boot has no deformation, cracks or other damages.
- Inspect that no foreign objects are mixed in the air intake boot.
Scheme 429
- Remove the clip which secures the air intake duct, and remove the air intake duct.
- Check that the air intake duct has no deformation, cracks or other damages.
- Inspect that no foreign objects are mixed in the air intake duct.
