INSTALLATION

Install each part in the reverse order of removal.

1. Disconnect the ground cable from battery.
2. Remove the front side speaker. Release the clips and claws, then detach the speaker cover. CAUTION: Use a plastic clip remover for removal. Remove the screws. Preparation tool: Stubby screwdriver Disconnect the connector and remove the front side speaker assembly. NOTE: On the passenger's side, also disconnect the sunload sensor connector.

1. Disconnect the ground cable from battery.
2. Remove the gusset cover. Attach the protective tape (a) to the door trim. Release the clips and claws, then detach the gusset cover.
3. Remove the door trim assembly. Open the cover and remove the screw. Remove the clips in the order of (A) to (J) and remove the door trim assembly from the door panel. CAUTION: When removing the door trim, be sure to remove the clips in the correct order. Forcibly removing clips may damage the door panel assembly. NOTE: Insert a plastic clip remover into the slit at the bottom of the door trim, to lift the door trim. Remove the cables (a) and (b) from the cable holder of inner remote. Disconnect the harness connector and remove the door trim assembly.
4. Remove the front door speaker assembly. Remove the screws. Disconnect the harness connector and remove the front door speaker assembly.

Install each part in the reverse order of removal.

1. Disconnect the ground cable from battery.
2. Remove the door trim assembly. Open the cover and remove the screw. Remove the clips in the order of (A) to (H) and remove the door trim assembly from the door panel. CAUTION: When removing the door trim, be sure to remove the clips in the correct order. Forcibly removing clips may damage the door panel assembly. NOTE: Insert a plastic clip remover into the slit at the bottom edge of the door trim and lift the door trim. Remove the cables (a) and (b) from the cable holder of inner remote. Disconnect the harness connector and remove the door trim.
3. Remove the rear speaker assembly. Remove the screws. Disconnect the harness connector and remove the rear speaker assembly.

Install each part in the reverse order of removal.

1. Disconnect the ground cable from battery. NOTE: For the power seat, move the seat before removing the battery ground terminal.
2. Move the passenger's seat to the front-most position.
3. Remove the power amplifier. Disconnect the harness connector. Remove the nut and remove the power amplifier.

Install each part in the reverse order of removal.

Tightening torque

Power amplifier: 4.5 N.m (0.46 kgf-m, 3.32 ft-lb)

1. Sedan model Remove the rear quarter trim LH. Refer to «SEDAN MODEL»(ref-565181-S23087683842013071000000) . Remove the radio antenna amplifier assembly. Disconnect the connector. Remove the bolts, and then remove the radio antenna amplifier assembly.
2. OUTBACK model Remove the rear gate upper trim. Remove the claws on the trim edge. Disconnect the claws in the center of trim, and remove the rear gate upper trim. Remove the radio antenna amplifier assembly. Disconnect the connector. Remove the bolts, and then remove the radio antenna amplifier assembly.

1. Disconnect the ground cable from battery and wait for at least 60 seconds before starting work.
2. Remove the center panel assembly. CAUTION: Do not put your finger on the fin of the air vent grille. Doing so may damage the fin. Attach the protective tape (a) to the meter visor. Insert a finger into the air vent grille and release the left and right clips at the top of the center panel. (A), (B) Insert a finger into the air vent grille and release the left and right clips at the center of the center panel. (C), (D) Release the clips at the bottom of the center panel and remove the center panel assembly.
3. Remove the audio assembly. Remove the left and right screws, and partially pull the audio out from center console. Disconnect the connectors, and remove the audio assembly.
4. Remove the navigation assembly. (model with navigation) Remove the left and right screws. Disconnect the connectors, and remove the navigation assembly.
5. Remove the control panel assembly. Remove the screws, and pull out the control panel assembly toward you. Disconnect the connector, and remove the control panel assembly.
6. Remove the console front cover assembly. MT model Remove the shift knob. Release the clips and claws, then pull up the console front cover assembly. NOTE: Turn over the front center pocket mat (a) and pull up the console front cover from the slit. Disconnect the harness connector and remove the console front cover assembly. AT/CVT model Remove the select lever knob. Lower the cover grip AT. Remove the clamp grip pin, then remove the select lever knob. Release the clips and claws, then pull up the console front cover assembly. NOTE: Turn over the front center pocket mat (a) and pull up the console front cover from the slit. Disconnect the harness connector and remove the console front cover assembly.
7. Remove the console front side cover assembly LH. Remove the screws and release the clips (A) to (D) in order. Remove the console front side cover assembly by pulling it up.
8. Turn over the floor mat and remove the harness clamp of the feeder cord.
9. Remove each pillar trim and quarter trim, and lower the roof trim. Refer to «REMOVAL»(ref-565181-S14293067582013071000000) . NOTE: It is not necessary to take the roof trim out of the vehicle. Disconnect the connector of the cord assembly - antenna feeder. Remove the clips and the Velcro tape behind the room light. Detach the connector of the cord assembly - antenna feeder from the trim panel - roof assembly.

1. Remove the roof trim. Refer to «REMOVAL»(ref-565181-S14293067582013071000000) .
2. Disconnect the harness connector and terminal, and remove the mounting nut (A).
3. Pull out the antenna from the roof top.

Radio antenna amplifier: 12 N.m (1.22 kgf-m, 8.9 ft-lb)

XM satellite radio antenna: 4.5 N.m (0.46 kgf-m, 3.3 ft-lb)

1. Position the front wheels straight ahead. (After moving a vehicle 5 m (16 ft) or more with front wheels positioned straight ahead, make sure that the vehicle moves straight ahead.)
2. Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
3. Disconnect the ground cable from battery and wait for at least 60 seconds before starting work.
4. Remove the driver's airbag module assembly. CAUTION: Before handling the airbag module, refer to «CAUTION»(ref-565203-S06105343772013071000000) . Using a hexagon wrench etc. wrapped by protective tape, insert the snap pins and release the locks (3 locations). Disconnect the horn harness and airbag connector and remove the airbag module assembly. Refer to «DRIVER' AIRBAG MODULE, CURTAIN AIRBAG MODULE, PRETENSIONER & LAP SEAT BELT PRETENSIONER»(ref-565203-S37682674332013071000000) .
5. Remove the steering wheel. CAUTION: Always use the steering wheel puller for removal to avoid deforming the steering wheel. If the steering wheel has been removed, make sure that the roll connector is not turned from the original position. Disconnect the connector and remove the nut. Put alignment marks, and remove the steering wheel using a steering wheel puller. Preparation tool: Steering wheel puller
6. Remove the satellite switch. Remove the screw, disconnect the connector and remove the paddle shift switch. (Model with paddle shift) Remove the steering switch connector and screw. (luminescent meter model) Release the claws and clips, detach the cover - steering wheel LWR. Remove the screws and then remove the satellite switch assembly.

1. Before installing steering wheel, be sure to adjust the direction of roll connector with steering. Refer to «ADJUSTMENT»(ref-565203-S35151865132013071000000) .
2. Install each part in the reverse order of removal. NOTE: Align the alignment marks on the steering wheel and steering column. Tightening torque: Steering wheel: 39 N.m (3.98 kgf-m, 28.8 ft-lb) Clearance: Between column cover and steering wheel: 4 - 6 mm (0.16 - 0.24 in)

2. Check the satellite switch illumination. Connect the battery (12 V) to the satellite switch connector. If illumination does not turn on, replace the satellite switch assembly.

1. Disconnect the ground cable from battery.
2. Remove the center panel assembly. CAUTION: Do not put your finger on the fin of the air vent grille. Doing so may damage the fin. Attach the protective tape (a) to the meter visor. Insert a finger into the air vent grille and release the left and right clips at the top of the center panel. (A), (B) Insert a finger into the air vent grille and release the left and right clips at the center of the center panel. (C), (D) Release the clips at the bottom of the center panel and remove the center panel assembly.
3. Remove the combination meter assembly. CAUTION: Be careful not to damage the meter or instrument panel. Pay particular attention to avoid damaging the meter glass. Release the lock, tilt the steering column to the lowest end and fully extend the column by the telescopic system. Release the screws and clips, then detach the meter visor assembly. Remove the screws and pull the steering COMPL upper cover toward you. Remove the screws and pull out the combination meter toward you to disconnect the connectors. Remove the combination meter assembly as shown in the figure.
4. Remove the navigation assembly. Remove the left and right screws. Disconnect the connectors, and remove the navigation assembly.
5. Remove the GPS antenna. Tie a string to the GPS antenna harness connector on the navigation assembly side. NOTE: A string makes operation easier during installation. Remove the screw and harness clamp to remove the GPS antenna. When the GPS antenna is pulled out, remove the string attached to the connector in step ( 1 ).

1. Park the vehicle at the level place where there are enough area at the rear of the vehicle.
2. Attach the tape as the target point for standard at the floor rearward of the vehicle as shown in the figure below. NOTE: Standard tape width is about 30 - 50 mm (1.18 - 1.97 in) and brilliant color shall be used.
3. Confirm the following before checking the corresponding items. Navigation If the display is blank. Rearview camera image is not displayed. (Navigation screen is displayed normally.) Check the condition of back sensor connection. Refer to «CHECK EACH VEHICLE SIGNAL»(ref-565215-S42155181952013071000000) . Check the condition of rearview camera connection. Refer to «CHECK EACH CONNECTION»(ref-565215-S41677666682013071000000) . If the marker is not displayed. Check the UART communication. Refer to «CHECK EACH CONNECTION»(ref-565215-S41677666682013071000000) . If the marker position is not aligned. Adjust the marker position according to the MARKER ADJUSTMENT MODE. Refer to «MARKER ADJUSTMENT MODE»(ref-565215-S14838222862013071000000) . Rearview mirror (RCD model) If the rearview camera display is blank. Check the condition of back sensor connection. Refer to «CHECK EACH VEHICLE SIGNAL»(ref-565215-S42155181952013071000000) . Check the condition of rearview camera connection. Refer to «CHECK EACH CONNECTION»(ref-565215-S41677666682013071000000) .

1. Prepare the target point. Refer to «INSPECTION»(ref-565215-S10276172212013071000000) .
2. Display the audio OFF screen by turning the ignition switch to ON, then touch the screen in the order of (1) - (6).
3. When the Dealer Diag menu screen is displayed, touch the "Rear Camera Setup" from the items. CAUTION: Do not select the item other than "Rear Camera Setup". The navigation system can not operate normally.
4. Shift the select lever to the "R" position to display the image of the rearview camera.
5. Touch the adjustment keys on the display screen to adjust the marker line. Sedan model OUTBACK model Confirm that the target point position in the display screen is identified. Adjust by touching the adjustment keys so that the cross line (E) and target point join together. NOTE: Hide OSD key: Touching the Hide OSD key hides the operation keys. When the operation keys are not displayed, touching the display screen displays the operation keys again. Menu key: Touching this key shifts to the Dealer Diag Menu screen. Default key: Touching this key resets the adjustment values to the default condition.
6. Turn the ignition switch to OFF and wait for 60 seconds or more before turning the ignition switch to ON again. CAUTION: If the ignition switch is turned to OFF, be sure to wait for 60 seconds or more before turning the ignition switch to ON again. If turning the ignition switch to ON again or disconnecting the ground cable from battery within 60 seconds after turning the ignition switch to OFF, the navigation unit data updating can not be performed correctly.
7. Shift the select lever to the "R" position to display the image of the rearview camera.
8. Confirm that the marker line position is correctly adjusted before turning the ignition switch to OFF, then finish the procedures.

1. Disconnect the ground cable from battery.
2. Remove the console front cover assembly. MT model Remove the shift knob. Release the clips and claws, then pull up the console front cover assembly. NOTE: Turn over the front center pocket mat (a) and pull up the console front cover from the slit. Disconnect the harness connector and remove the console front cover assembly. AT/CVT model Remove the select lever knob. Lower the cover grip AT. Remove the clamp grip pin, then remove the select lever knob. Release the clips and claws, then pull up the console front cover assembly. NOTE: Turn over the front center pocket mat (a) and pull up the console front cover from the slit. Disconnect the harness connector and remove the console front cover assembly.
3. Remove the console front side cover assembly. Remove the screws and release the clips (A) to (D) in order. Remove the console front side cover assembly by pulling it up.
4. Remove the console box assembly. Move the seat forward, and remove the bolts after detaching the left and right caps. NOTE: For a model with power seat, connect the battery ground cable and move the seat. Then, disconnect the battery ground cable again and wait for 60 seconds at least before restarting the work. Remove the screws, disconnect the harness connector and remove the console box assembly.
5. Remove the AUX input terminal. Remove the claws at four locations. Remove the AUX input terminal assembly by pushing it into the console box.

1. Disconnect the ground cable from battery.
2. Remove the console front cover assembly. MT model Remove the shift knob. Release the clips and claws, then pull up the console front cover assembly. NOTE: Turn over the front center pocket mat (a) and pull up the console front cover from the slit. Disconnect the harness connector and remove the console front cover assembly. AT/CVT model Remove the select lever knob. Lower the cover grip AT. Remove the clamp grip pin, then remove the select lever knob. Release the clips and claws, then pull up the console front cover assembly. NOTE: Turn over the front center pocket mat (a) and pull up the console front cover from the slit. Disconnect the harness connector and remove the console front cover assembly.
3. Remove the console front side cover assembly LH. Remove the screws and release the clips (A) to (D) in order. Remove the console front side cover assembly by pulling it up.
4. Remove the center panel assembly. CAUTION: Do not put your finger on the fin of the air vent grille. Doing so may damage the fin. Attach the protective tape (a) to the meter visor. Insert a finger into the air vent grille and release the left and right clips at the top of the center panel. (A), (B) Insert a finger into the air vent grille and release the left and right clips at the center of the center panel. (C), (D) Release the clips at the bottom of the center panel and remove the center panel assembly.
5. Remove the audio assembly. Remove the left and right screws, and partially pull the audio out from center console. Disconnect the connectors, and remove the audio assembly.
6. Remove the navigation assembly. (model with navigation) Remove the left and right screws. Disconnect the connectors, and remove the navigation assembly.
7. Remove the AUX terminal harness. Remove the harness clamp. Disconnect the connector from the AUX input terminal assembly, and remove the AUX terminal harness.

Install each part in the reverse order of removal.

Center console: 6.5 N.m (0.66 kgf-m, 4.8 ft-lb)
