Operation
When the ignition switch is turned on, the (CHECK ENGINE) Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) illuminates. If the MIL does not illuminate, see MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LIGHT (MIL) DOES NOT COME ON. After starting the engine, the MIL goes out. If the MIL does not go out, either the engine or emission control system is malfunctioning. If the diagnosis system senses a misfire which could damage the catalyzer, the MIL will blink at a cycle of 1Hz. When the ignition switch is turned ON, with engine OFF, or to START position with the Test Mode Connector connected, the MIL will blink at a cycle of 3 Hz.
