TPMS RESET INDEX
TPMS RESET - PROCEDURE 1
Note. If tires are rotated, tire pressure sensor or TPM control module is replaced, or when wheels are changed (i.e., when snow tires are installed), the tire pressure sensor IDs must be registered.
Note. If tires were rotated, the performance and function of TPM system is not affected. However, correct tire positions will not displayed in the Subaru Select Monitor.
Note. In the following procedures, the Subaru Select Monitor and Transmitter Registration Tool (TPM-00012 or Kent-Moore Part No. FJ45295) must be used.
Tire Pressure Sensor Registration
Note. If the ignition switch and power supply of Subaru Select Monitor are turned off or the registration procedure is not performed within 5 minutes, registration mode is cancelled.
Note. If registration procedure is not successful after 2 attempts, replace TPM control module.
- Set the tire pressure of all wheels to specification.
- Connect Subaru Select Monitor.
- On "MAIN MENU" display screen, select "EACH SYSTEM CHECK" and press YES/OK key.
- On "SYSTEM SELECTION MENU" display screen, select "TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING" and press YES/OK key.
- Press YES/OK key after "TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING" is displayed.
- On display screen, select "TRANSMITTER ID REGIST CONFIRM" and press YES/OK key.
- When "ID REGISTRATION MODE EXECUTE, REGISTERED ID IS DELETED PROCEED?" is displayed, press YES/OK key.
- Using Transmitter Registration Tool (TPM-00012 or Kent-Moore Part No. FJ45295), contact sidewall near air valve of front left tire and press the switch to send transmitter ID to TPM control module (at this time, tire pressure warning light blinks to start registration procedure). Register tire pressure sensors, while noting the following: Register transmitters in the following order: Left Front, Right Front, Right Rear, Left Rear. Transmitter registration tool should be in contact with sidewall, near transmitter. After registration for each tire completes, hazard light will blink and "ID REGISTRATION COMPLETED" will be displayed in the Select Monitor display screen. If registration procedure stops before completion (turning ignition switch to OFF position, wrong registration order, etc.), repeat procedure from step 6 .
- After ID registration is completed, tire pressure warning light will turn on for 2 seconds to indicate registration procedure is completed. Display screen will show transmitter IDs.
- Check the registered transmitter ID. See «Display Transmitter ID Operation»(/subaru/impreza-wrx/gdgg-2-2005-2007/remont/reset-procedures/#maintenance-reminder-light-reset-procedures__display-transmitter-id-operation) . After all IDs are confirmed, drive vehicle at 25 mph (40 km/h) for 10 minutes.
Display Transmitter ID Operation
Note. In the following procedure, the Subaru Select Monitor must be used.
- Connect Subaru Select Monitor.
- On "MAIN MENU" display screen, select "EACH SYSTEM CHECK" and press YES/OK key.
- On "SYSTEM SELECTION MENU" display screen, select "TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING" and press YES/OK key.
- Press YES/OK key after "TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING" is displayed.
- On "TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR DIAGNOSIS" display screen, select "TRANSMITTER ID REGIST CONFIRM" and press YES/OK key.
- Select "TRANSMITTER ID DATA MONITOR", and press YES/OK key to display transmitter ID.
TPMS RESET - PROCEDURE 2
Note. In the following procedures, the Subaru Select Monitor (SSM3) and Transmitter Registration Tool (TPM-00012 or Kent-Moore Part No. FJ45295) must be used.
Before Registration
Transmitter ID is written on the tire pressure sensor. It is impossible to read the transmitter ID after tire is installed to the wheel. Because of this, be sure to record the transmitter ID before tire installation.
- When replacing the transmitter, record the 7 digit number (transmitter ID) on the transmitter.
- When replacing the tire pressure warning ECM/receiver, check the registered ID of transmitter that is recorded in the former ECM using SSM3, and record it. If the recorded transmitter ID is not read out because of a transmitter part failure, remove the tire from wheel and record the ID on the transmitter.
Transmitter ID Registration
Note. If the registration of the transmitter ID is not finished within 300 seconds, the registration will be cancelled.
- Adjust all tire pressures to the specified pressure.
- Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
- Connect the SSM3 to the DLC3.
- Turn the ignition and SSM3 to ON.
- Enter the following menus: EACH SYSTEM CHECK > TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR > WORK SUPPORT> TRANSMITTER ID REGIST.
- Perform the procedure displayed in the SSM3.
ID Registration Confirmation
Note. It takes several minutes in order to update the tire pressure data. If the data is not displayed, perform troubleshooting according to the procedures from DTC C2121 to C2124. If the normal tire pressure is displayed, ID registration has been finished properly. If the correct tire pressure is not displayed after several minutes, IDs are wrong or system is malfunctioning. If the IDs are not registered, and 3 minutes or more passes, DTC C2171 is recorded in the ECM/receiver. After registration of all IDs, DTC C2126 is registered in the ECM/receiver, and the TPMS light illuminates, after blinking for 1 minute. If the data is sent to the ECM/receiver from all registered transmitters, DTC C2126 is cleared and the tire pressure warning light goes off.
- Enter the following menus: EACH SYSTEM CHECK > TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR> CURRENT DATA DISPLAY & SAVE.
- Read the value of the "Tire pressure".
- Confirm that data of all transmitters are displayed in SSM3 correctly.
