Generators & Regulators: Removal & Installation Subaru Forester SG

Removal

1. Disconnect ground cable from battery.
2. Disconnect connector and terminal from generator. (Scheme 4)
3. Remove V-belt. (Scheme 5)
4. Remove the front side V-belt.
5. Remove bolt (A), and loosen bolt (B). Then, remove generator from bracket. (Scheme 6)

Installation

Install in the reverse order of removal. (Scheme 6)

Note. Perform the following procedures with the engine installed to body.

1. Remove the V-belt cover. (Scheme 7)
2. Loosen the lock bolt (A). (Scheme 8)
3. Loosen the slider bolt (B).
4. Remove the front side belt (C).
