TROUBLE SHOOTING

  1. Turn ignition switch to ACC or IGN position. Check power mirror fuse. See «WIRING DIAGRAMS»(ref-124097-S04606104672001092800000). If fuse is okay, turn ignition switch off. Remove switch from instrument panel by prying outward. Disconnect switch harness connector. Turn ignition switch to ACC or RUN position. Check voltage at switch harness connector terminal No. 4. See «POWER MIRROR SWITCH CONNECTOR TERMINAL IDENTIFICATION»(ref-124097-S13638576402001092800000). (Scheme 1)or (Scheme 2). If battery voltage is present, go to next step. If battery voltage is not present, repair wiring as necessary.
  2. Turn ignition off. Check resistance between ground and switch harness connector terminal No. 2 (ground). See POWER MIRROR SWITCH CONNECTOR TERMINAL IDENTIFICATION. If resistance is 10 ohms or greater, repair open in Black wire. If resistance is not 10 ohms or greater, go to «COMPONENT TESTS»(ref-124097-S29782017432001092800000).

POWER MIRROR SWITCH TEST

Note. Testing procedures for Forester and Legacy is not available.

Impreza

Pry mirror switch from instrument panel using a small screwdriver. Disconnect switch connector. Check continuity between specified terminals of switch connector with switch button in specified position. See POWER MIRROR SWITCH CONTINUITY TEST table. (Scheme 1) Replace switch if continuity is not as specified.
