Generators & Regulators: Removal & Installation Subaru Baja I

Removal

1. Disconnect ground cable from battery.
2. Disconnect connector and terminal from generator. (Scheme 4)
3. Remove V-belt. See «V-BELT»(ref-167575-S24055552802004101900000).
4. Remove bolt (A), and loosen bolt (B). Then, remove generator from bracket. (Scheme 5)

Installation

Install in the reverse order of removal. (Scheme 5)

Note. Perform the following procedures with the engine installed to the body.

1. Remove V-belt cover. (Scheme 6)
2. Loosen the lock bolt (A). (Scheme 7)
3. Loosen the slider bolt (B).
4. Remove the front side belt (C).

1. Wipe off any oil or water on the belt and pulley.
2. Install a belt (C), and tighten the slider bolt so as to obtain the specified belt tension. See «BELT TENSION»(ref-167575-S04706557142004101800000). (Scheme 7)
3. Tighten the lock bolt (A).
4. Tighten slider bolt (B).
5. Install V-belt cover.
