REMOVAL

CAUTIONSome of these service operations affect the SRS airbag system. Read the precautionary notices concerning the SRS airbag system before servicing. (See PRECAUTION ).

HINT

The procedure described below is for the driver side. Use the same procedure for both the front passenger and driver sides, unless otherwise specified.

  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
  2. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY Push in the 2 lock buttons of the front seat headrest supports and remove the 2 front seat headrests.
  3. REMOVE SEAT TRACK COVER Remove the screw. Disengage the claw and remove the seat track cover.
  4. REMOVE SEAT TRACK INNER BRACKET COVER Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the claw and remove the seat track inner bracket cover.
  5. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY LH Disconnect the buckle switch connector. Disconnect the airbag connector. Slide the slider and disconnect the airbag connector. Disengage the wiring harness clamp. Remove the 4 bolts and the front seat.
  6. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY RH Disconnect the front seat wire connector. Disconnect the airbag connector. Slide the slider and disconnect the airbag connector. Disengage the wiring harness clamp. Remove the 4 bolts and the front seat.

  1. INSTALL FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY LH NOTE: Follow the procedure described below in order to prevent the seat tracks from locking separately. Insert the 2 locating pins through the 2 body holes, place the front seat in the most forward position and make sure that the inner and outer seat tracks are locked securely. Install bolt 1 and then bolt 2 onto the rear side. Torque: 37 N*m (375 kgf*cm, 27 ft.*lbf) Move the front seat to the most rearward position, and then make sure that the inner and outer seat tracks are securely locked. Install bolt 3 and then bolt 4 onto the rear side. Torque: 37 N*m (375 kgf*cm, 27 ft.*lbf) Make sure that the inner and outer seat tracks lock simultaneously after the seat is moved. HINT: If the inner and outer seat tracks do not lock simultaneously, adjust the seat tracks by loosening the bolts. Connect the airbag connector. Connect the buckle switch connector. Engage the wiring harness clamp.
  2. INSTALL FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY RH NOTE: Follow the procedure described below in order to prevent the seat tracks from locking separately. Insert the 2 locating pins through the 2 body holes, place the front seat in the most forward position and make sure that the inner and outer seat tracks are locked securely. Install bolt 1 and then bolt 2 onto the rear side. Torque: 37 N*m (375 kgf*cm, 27 ft.*lbf) Move the front seat to the most rearward position, and then make sure that the inner and outer seat tracks are securely locked. Install bolt 3 and then bolt 4 onto the rear side. Torque: 37 N*m (375 kgf*cm, 27 ft.*lbf) Make sure that the inner and outer seat tracks lock simultaneously after the seat is moved. HINT: If the inner and outer seat tracks do not lock simultaneously, adjust the seat tracks by loosening the bolts. Connect the airbag connector. Connect the front seat wire connector. Engage the wiring harness clamp.
  3. INSTALL SEAT TRACK INNER BRACKET COVER Engage the claw and install the seat track inner bracket cover.
  4. INSTALL SEAT TRACK COVER Engage the claw and install the seat track cover. Tighten the screw.
  5. INSTALL FRONT SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY Push in the 2 lock buttons of the front seat headrest supports and install the 2 front seat headrests.
  6. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL Torque: 5.4 N*m (55 kgf*cm, 48 in.*lbf)
  7. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT (See «DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM»(ref-289738-S09321370282008070700000) )

  1. REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION WITH COVER PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY Hold the front edge of the rear seat cushion cover pad and lift it up, as shown in the illustration, to disengage the 2 hooks. NOTE: Hold the area around the hooks so as to avoid deforming the rear seat cushion frame. Pass the rear seat inner belt through the slit in the rear seat cushion cover pad, disengage the hook between the rear seat cushion cover pad and the rear seatback, and remove the rear seat cushion cover pad.
  2. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY Remove the bolt and the rear center seat outer assembly. Push the rear seatback lock release button and tilt the rear seatback forward. Remove the 2 bolts, the 2 hooks and the rear seatback.
