DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM

  1. CHECK DLC3 Check the DLC3 (See «HOW TO TROUBLESHOOT ECU CONTROLLED SYSTEMS»(ref-289756-S19835601092008070700000) )

DTC CHECK/CLEAR

  1. CHECK DTC Connect an intelligent tester or Techstream to the DLC3. Turn the ignition switch to ON. Turn the tester on. Enter the following menus: Intelligent tester - Select: DIAGNOSIS / OBD/ MOBD / AIR CONDITIONER / DTC INFO / Techstream - Select: Body Electrical / Air conditioner / Trouble Codes / Read the DTCs.

Enter the following menus: Intelligent tester - Select: DIAGNOSIS / OBD/ MOBD / AIR CONDITIONER / DTC INFO / Techstream - Select: Body Electrical / Air conditioner / Trouble Codes / Erase the DTCs.

DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST

  1. DATA LIST HINT: Using an intelligent tester or Techstream to read the Data List allows the values or states of switches, sensor, actuators and other items to be read without removing any parts. This non-intrusive inspection can be very useful because intermittent conditions or signals may by discovered before parts or wiring is disturbed. Reading the Data List information early in troubleshooting is one way to save diagnostic time. NOTE: In the table below, the values listed under "Normal Condition" are reference values. Do not depend solely on these reference values when deciding whether a part is faulty or not. Warm up the engine. Turn the ignition switch to OFF. Connect the intelligent tester or Techstream to the DLC3. Turn the ignition switch to ON. Turn the tester on. Enter the following menus: Intelligent tester - Select: DIAGNOSIS / OBD/ MOBD / AIR CONDITIONER / DATA LIST / ALL / Techstream - Select: Body Electrical / Air Conditioner / Data List / According to the display on tester, read the "Data List". Scheme 94: INSPECTION
  1. INSPECT AMBIENT TEMPERATURE SENSOR Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below. Standard resistance TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition 1 - 2 10°C (50°F) 3.00 to 3.73 kohms 1 - 2 15°C (59°F) 2.45 to 2.88 kohms 1 - 2 20°C (68°F) 1.95 to 2.30 kohms 1 - 2 25°C (77°F) 1.60 to 1.80 kohms 1 - 2 30°C (86°F) 1.28 to 1.47 kohms 1 - 2 35°C (95°F) 1.00 to 1.22 kohms 1 - 2 40°C (104°F) 0.80 to 1.00 kohms 1 - 2 45°C (113°F) 0.65 to 0.85 kohms 1 - 2 50°C (122°F) 0.50 to 0.70 kohms 1 - 2 55°C (131°F) 0.44 to 0.60 kohms 1 - 2 60°C (140°F) 0.36 to 0.50 kohms NOTE: Even slightly touching the sensor may change the resistance value. Be sure to hold the sensor connector. When measuring, the sensor temperature must be the same as the ambient temperature. HINT: As the temperature increases, the resistance decreases (Scheme 94) If the resistance is not as specified, replace the ambient temperature sensor.
