PROCEDURE

1. CHECK COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY (OPERATION) Check that the key reminder warning buzzer sounds. Refer to «SYSTEM DESCRIPTION»(ref-451055-S02778657542012020700000) . OK Combination meter buzzer sounds. NG --> See step 3 OK --> See step 2
2. REPLACE CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY). Refer to «REMOVAL»(ref-451232-S11677392442012020700000)
3. Go to METER / GAUGE SYSTEM. Refer to «PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE»(ref-451058-S11723204342012020700000)

1. CHECK POWER DOOR LOCK OPERATION When the door control switch on the power window regulator master switch assembly on the driver side door is operated, check that the doors unlock and lock according to the switch operation. Refer to «OPERATION CHECK»(ref-451052-S09544445772012020700000) . OK Door locks operate normally. NG --> See step 6 OK: Go to next step
2. CHECK WAVE ENVIRONMENT Bring the electrical key transmitter approximately 0.3 m (0.98 ft.) from the electrical key antenna (outside luggage) and perform an entry back door unlock function check. Refer to «OPERATION CHECK»(ref-451055-S07792322432012020700000) . TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION *a Approximately 0.3 m (0.98 ft.) *b Vehicle Center NOTE: If the electrical key transmitter is brought within 0.2 m (0.66 ft.) of the rear bumper, communication may not possible. HINT: If the inspection result is that the problem only occurs in certain locations or at certain times of day, the possibility of electric wave interference is high. Also, added vehicle components may cause electric wave interference. If added vehicle components are installed, remove them and perform the operation check. OK Entry function operates normally. NG --> See step 3 OK --> AFFECTED BY WAVE INTERFERENCE
3. CHECK ELECTRICAL KEY ANTENNA IN KEY DIAGNOSTIC MODE Check the following antenna in the key diagnostic mode. Refer to «SYSTEM DESCRIPTION»(ref-451055-S02778657542012020700000) . Check the electrical key antenna (outside luggage). TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION *a Approximately 0.3 m (0.98 ft.) *b Vehicle Center When the electrical key transmitter is brought within 0.7 to 1 m (2.30 to 3.28 ft.) of the electrical key antenna (outside luggage), check that the wireless door lock buzzer sounds. OK Wireless door lock buzzer sounds. NG --> See step 4 OK --> See step 7
4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ELECTRICAL KEY ANTENNA - CERTIFICATION ECU AND BODY GROUND) Disconnect the H17 electrical key antenna (outside luggage) connector. Disconnect the C35 and C36 certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) connectors. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below. Standard Resistance Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition H17-1 (CLG5) - C36-19 (CLG8) Always Below 1 ohms H17-2 (CLGB) - C36-20 (CG8B) Always Below 1 ohms C35-15 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 ohms H17-1 (CLG5) or C36-19 (CLG8) - Body ground Always 10 kohms or higher H17-2 (CLGB) or C36-20 (CG8B) - Body ground Always 10 kohms or higher NG --> REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR OK: Go to next step
5. INSPECT ELECTRICAL KEY ANTENNA (OUTSIDE LUGGAGE) Remove the electrical key antenna (outside luggage). Refer to «REMOVAL»(ref-451232-S14661347452012020700000) . Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below. Standard Resistance Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition 1 (CLG5) - 2 (CLGB) Always Below 1 ohms NG --> See step 8 OK --> See step 9
6. Go to POWER DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM. Refer to «PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE»(ref-451052-S18421390232012020700000)
7. REPLACE CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY). Refer to «REMOVAL»(ref-451232-S11677392442012020700000)
8. REPLACE ELECTRICAL KEY ANTENNA (OUTSIDE LUGGAGE). Refer to «REMOVAL»(ref-451232-S14661347452012020700000)
9. REPLACE CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY). Refer to «REMOVAL»(ref-451232-S11677392442012020700000)
