REMOVAL & INSTALLATION
| CAUTION | When battery is disconnected, vehicle computer and memory systems may lose memory data. Driveability problems may exist until computer systems have completed a relearn cycle. See COMPUTER RELEARN PROCEDURES article in GENERAL INFORMATION before disconnecting battery. |
- Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove power mirror trim panel by pulling outward. Remove foam filler from door frame. Disconnect electrical connector.
- Remove mirror assembly nuts. Remove mirror and seal. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten mirror assembly nuts to 89 INCH lbs. (10 N.m).
Grasp inboard and outboard edges of mirror with fingers. Carefully pull rearward to disengage attaching tabs on glass assembly from housing. To install, ensure alignment tabs "A" and "B" are correctly aligned. (Scheme 1) Snap mirror glass assembly onto housing.
Scheme 1
- Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove outside power mirror glass. See «POWER MIRROR GLASS»(ref-996-S18849466032000031300000). Remove power mirror trim panel by pulling outward. Remove foam filler from door frame. Disconnect harness connector. Remove motor attaching screws. Unseat harness grommet, and remove mirror motor.
- To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten mirror motor screws to 27 INCH lbs. (3 N.m). Ensure mirror face alignment tabs "A" and "B" are correctly aligned. (Scheme 1)
- Slide switch assembly forward. Lift rear edge upward and out of console. Disconnect electrical connector. (Scheme 2)
- Install power mirror switch electrical connectors. Install power mirror switch by inserting front edge first and snapping rear of switch into position.
