900 Series

  1. Connect a pressure gauge to pressure port on transaxle. Set selector lever to "P" position. Block wheels and apply hand brake. Start and idle engine at 850 RPM.
  2. Disconnect throttle cable from throttle lever. Ensure throttle is not binding. Withdraw cable to obtain maximum line pressure and return it to original position. Pressure should return to initial pressure. If pressure stays above 69 psi (4.9 kg/cm 2 ), throttle cable must be cleaned or adjusted.
  3. Connect throttle cable to throttle lever. Set selector lever to "D" position. Ensure cable is released to obtain lowest pressure. Increase pressure to 1.4 psi (0.1 kg/cm 2 ) by adjusting throttle cable. Adjust cable at bracket in engine compartment. Set selector lever to "P" position. Pressure should be 59-69 psi (4.1-4.9 kg/cm 2 ).

9000 Series

  1. Measure distance between cable crimp and cable housing when throttle is opened to wide open position (just before kickdown on transmission cam). Distance should be 1.54" (39 mm).
  2. With throttle in idle position, again measure distance between cable crimp and cable housing. Distance should be .098" (2.5 mm). Loosen both lock nuts on throttle housing bracket to adjust. Tighten lock nuts.

NEUTRAL SAFETY SWITCH

Set selector lever to "N" position. Loosen switch retaining screws. Rotate switch housing to align lever with mark on switch housing. Tighten retaining bolts to 19 ft. lbs. (25 N.m).
