Scheme 1: Windshield Wiper and Washer Switch Replacement

Preliminary Procedures Remove the steering column shroud. Refer to STEERING COLUMN SHROUD REPLACEMENT .
1Windshield Wiper and Washer Switch Procedure Disconnect any electrical connectors as necessary. Release the plastic retaining tabs and remove the windshield wiper and washer switch from the turn signal switch bracket.

Scheme 2: Windshield Washer Nozzle Hose Replacement

Preliminary Procedures Remove the hood insulator. Refer to HOOD INSULATOR REPLACEMENT .
1Windshield Washer Nozzle Hose Retainer Procedure Release the retainer securing the windshield washer nozzle hose to the inner hood panel and the hood hinge.
2Windshield Washer Nozzle Hose Elbow Procedure Using a slight twist of the hose elbow to nozzle, then pull the hose elbow end and T end from the windshield washer nozzle spout.
3Windshield Washer Nozzle Hose Procedure Disconnect the windshield washer nozzle hose at the fender flange near the air inlet grille panel.

Scheme 3: Windshield Washer Nozzle Replacement

Preliminary Procedures Remove the hood insulator in order to access the windshield washer nozzle(s). Refer to HOOD INSULATOR REPLACEMENT .
1Windshield Washer Nozzle Procedure Remove either the T hose connection or the elbow connection from the windshield washer nozzle. Access the windshield washer nozzle tabs from the bottom-side of the hood panel. Squeeze both tabs (as shown by the small arrows) inward in order to release the windshield washer nozzle. Push the nozzle upward and rotate the nozzle forward to remove the nozzle from the outer hood panel.

Scheme 4: Rear Window Washer Nozzle Replacement

Preliminary Procedures Remove the high mount stop lamp in order to access the rear window washer nozzle retention clips. Refer to HIGH MOUNT STOP LAMP REPLACEMENT .
1Rear Window Washer Nozzle Procedure Depress the retention clips and rotate the washer nozzle outward from the rear end lower spoiler. Disconnect the rear washer nozzle jumper hose. Adjust the rear window washer nozzle after installation. Refer to REAR WINDOW WASHER NOZZLE ADJUSTMENT .

Scheme 5: Spray Pattern Adjustment
  1. NOTE: All adjustments must be completed with the liftgate assembly in the FULL closed position. The first measurement (a) is from the centerline of the rear window washer nozzle, downward in a vertical line.
  2. Measure from the bottom edge of the rear end spoiler (a) in an downward vertical line between 124-192 mm (4.8-7.5") to have the location for the top edge of the spray pattern.
  3. Make a small mark with a wax-pencil to use as a reference point when the rear washer spray pattern is tested.
  4. Measure from the bottom edge of the rear end spoiler (b) in a downward vertical line between 87-116 mm (3.4-4.5") to have the location for the top outer edge of the upper spray pattern.
  5. Make a small mark with a wax-pencil to use as a reference point when the rear washer spray pattern is tested.
  6. Measure from the outer left side edge of the liftgate glass (c) in a horizontal line between 491-495 mm (19.3-19.4") to have the location for the inner edge of the lower spray pattern.
  7. Make a small mark with a wax-pencil to use as a reference point when the rear washer spray pattern is tested.
  8. Measure from the outer left side edge of the liftgate glass (d) in a horizontal line between 365-380 mm (14.3-15") to have the location for the outer edge of the lower spray pattern.
  9. Make a small mark with a wax-pencil to use as a reference point when the rear washer spray pattern is tested.
  10. Operate the rear washer system and notice the spray contact patterns as the washe nozzle sprays.
  11. Turn OFF the rear wiper washer system and make any needed adjustment to the rear window washer nozzle.
  12. Use a small flat-bladed tool in order to move and adjust the ball socket within the rear window washer nozzle.
  13. After every adjustment, re-check the spray pattern contact location, (as shown) of the rear window washer solvent contact to the liftgate glass surface.
  14. Clean the liftgate glass, removing the wax-pencil marks made previously from the spray pattern reference points.
  15. Fill the windshield washer solvent container to full capacity.

Scheme 6: Headlamp Washer Nozzle Hole Cover Replacement

Preliminary Procedures With an assistant, activate the headlamp washer. Grasp the washer nozzle once outward away from the bumper fascia. Hold the headlamp washer nozzle outward and release the locking tab from the nozzle cover. Remove the washer nozzle cover.
1Headlamp Washer Nozzle Hole Cover NOTE: Hold onto the cover and nozzle assembly until the cover releases back into the front bumper fascia opening cover surface.

Scheme 7: Headlamp Washer Nozzle Replacement

Preliminary Procedures Remove the front bumper fascia. Refer to FRONT BUMPER FASCIA REPLACEMENT .
1Headlamp Washer Nozzle Hole Cover Procedure Lift the washer nozzle hole cover, hold the washer nozzle and release the cover from the nozzle using a small flat-bladed tool.
2Headlamp Nozzle Bracket Screw (Qty: 2) Refer to CAUTION: RETAINER .
3Headlamp Washer Nozzle Hose NOTE: Disconnect the washer hose from the washer nozzle spout.
4Headlamp Washer Nozzle Assembly Procedure Remove the headlamp washer nozzle from the headlamp washer nozzle bracket.
NOTE
Disconnect the washer hose from the washer nozzle spout.

Scheme 8: Windshield Washer Solvent Container Hose Replacement

Preliminary Procedures Remove the left front fender assembly. Refer to FRONT FENDER REPLACEMENT . Disconnect the front portion of the windshield washer solvent container hose from the headlamp washer hose. Remove the rear portion of the windshield washer solvent container hose from the headlamp washer pump spout.
1Windshield Washer Solvent Container Hose Procedure Release the windshield washer solvent container hose from the side of the windshield washer solvent container retainers.

Scheme 9: Headlamp Washer Hose Replacement

Preliminary Procedures Remove the left front wheelhouse liner. Refer to FRONT WHEELHOUSE LINER REPLACEMENT . Disconnect the headlamp washer pump hose from the headlamp washer nozzle hose. Open the two retainer clips securing the hose to the headlamp front end fascia mounting panel outer bracket. Remove the front bumper fascia. Refer to FRONT BUMPER FASCIA REPLACEMENT . Disconnect both headlamp washer hose ends from the headlamp washer nozzle spouts. Open the two retainer clips securing the headlamp washer hose under the front fascia grille. Pull the headlamp washer nozzle hose to the left through the both headlamp washer nozzle brackets. Remove the hose from the front bumper fascia assembly.

Scheme 10: Windshield Washer Solvent Container Filler Tube Replacement

Preliminary Procedures Open and support the hood assembly. Remove the left side front compartment side sight shield. Refer to FRONT COMPARTMENT SIDE SIGHT SHIELD REPLACEMENT .
1Windshield Washer Solvent Container Filler Tube Bolt Refer to CAUTION: RETAINER . Tighten 6.0 Nm (53 lb in)
2Windshield Washer Solvent Container Filler Tube Procedure Pull and rotate slightly while removing the filler tube from the top side of the windshield washer solvent container seal.

Scheme 11: Windshield Washer Solvent Container Replacement

Preliminary Procedures Remove the left front fender. Refer to FRONT FENDER REPLACEMENT . Remove the washer container filler tube. Refer to WINDSHIELD WASHER SOLVENT CONTAINER FILLER TUBE REPLACEMENT Drain the windshield washer solvent into a suitable clean container. Disengage the headlamp washer nozzle hose from the headlamp washer pump hose at the front of the windshield washer solvent container. Disconnect the main harness electrical connector at the front of the windshield washer solvent container. Disconnect the windshield washer nozzle hose and headliner washer hose at the windshield washer pump.
1Windshield Washer Solvent Container Bolt (Qty: 3) Refer to CAUTION: RETAINER . Tighten 6 Nm (53 lb in)
2Windshield Washer Solvent Container Procedure Carefully lower and remove the windshield washer solvent container from the left front inner front compartment upper side rail brackets. Remove the windsheld washer solvent container hose from the container. Disconnect the level sensor electrical connector. Disconnect both headlamp and windshield washer pump electrical connectors. Transfer the windshield washer pump container main electrical harness assembly.

Scheme 12: Headlamp Washer Pump Replacement

Preliminary Procedures Remove the windshield washer solvent container. Refer to WINDSHIELD WASHER SOLVENT CONTAINER REPLACEMENT .
1Headlamp Washer Pump Procedure Drain the windshield washer solvent into a suitable clean container. Disconnect the electrical connector to the headlamp washer pump. Disconnect the headlamp washer pump hose at the headlamp washer pump. Using two suitable flat-bladed tools under the base of the headlamp washer pump, pry upward in order to release the headlamp washer pump from the headlamp washer pump grommet and container. Discard the headlamp washer pump grommet. NOTE: Use full strength washer solvent on the new grommet in order to aid in the installation of the new headlamp washer pump.

Scheme 13: Windshield Washer Pump Replacement

Preliminary Procedures Remove the windshield washer solvent container. Refer to WINDSHIELD WASHER SOLVENT CONTAINER REPLACEMENT .
1Windshield Washer Pump Procedure Drain the windshield washer solvent into a suitable clean container. Disconnect the electrical connector to the windshield washer pump. Disconnect the windshield washer pump hose at the windshield washer pump. Using two suitable flat-bladed tools under the base of the windshield washer pump, pry upward in order to release the windshield washer pump from the windshield washer pump grommet and container. Discard the windshield washer pump grommet. NOTE: Use full strength washer solvent on the new grommet in order to aid in the installation of the new windshield washer pump.

Scheme 14: Windshield Washer Solvent Level Indicator Replacement

Preliminary Procedures Remove the windshield washer solvent container. Refer to WINDSHIELD WASHER SOLVENT CONTAINER REPLACEMENT .
1Windshield Washer Solvent Level Indicator Procedure Drain the windshield washer solvent into a suitable clean container. Disconnect the electrical connector from the level indicator. Using two small flat-bladed tools under the indicator grommet, pry the level indicator outward from the windshield washer solvent container and grommet. Remove and discard the level indicator grommet. Use full strength windshield washer solvent when installing the new level indicator grommet and level indicator.

Scheme 15: Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement

Preliminary Procedures Remove both wiper arm assemblies. Refer to WINDSHIELD WIPER ARM REPLACEMENT . Remove the hood rear weatherstrip. Refer to HOOD REAR WEATHERSTRIP REPLACEMENT . Remove both air inlet grille panel extensions. Remove both front compartment side sight shields. Refer to FRONT COMPARTMENT SIDE SIGHT SHIELD REPLACEMENT .
1Air Inlet Grille Panel Retainer (Qty: 4) Procedure Release the retainers from the air inlet panel and plenum panel reinforcement.
2Air Inlet Grille Panel Procedure Disconnect the windshield washer nozzle hose from the bottom edge of the air inlet grille panel. Carefully pull forward and move the air inlet grille panel around the hood strut assembly. Remove the air inlet grille panel from the vehicle.

Scheme 16: Windshield Wiper Arm Replacement

Preliminary Procedures Open and support the hood in order to access and remove the wiper arm assembly.
1Windshield Wiper Arm Nut Cover NOTE: Gently pry the cap from the wiper arm nut.
2Windshield Wiper Arm Nut Refer to CAUTION: RETAINER . Tighten 27 Nm (20 lb ft)
3Windshield Wiper Arm Procedure Gently rock the wiper arm side to side and remove. Clean the transmission pivot shaft with a soft wire brush prior to installing the wiper arm back onto the pivot shaft. Remove the wiper blade assembly from the wiper arm. Refer to WINDSHIELD WIPER BLADE REPLACEMENT . Hold the driver side wiper arm blade tip to the center dot located in the windshield blackout below the dot matrix while securing the nut. Hold the passenger side wiper arm blade tip to the passenger side outer dot located in the windshield blackout below the dot matrix while securing the nut.
NOTE
Gently pry the cap from the wiper arm nut.

Scheme 17: Rear Window Wiper Arm Replacement

Preliminary Procedures Electrically, PARK the rear window wiper arm prior to removing the rear window wiper arm.
1Rear Window Wiper Arm Cover Procedure Remove the rear wiper arm cover, lift the rear edge of the cover from the wiper arm and push the cover off the rear window wiper blade.
2Rear Window Wiper Arm Pivot Shaft Nut Refer to CAUTION: RETAINER . Tighten 10 Nm (89 lb in) NOTE: Clean the pivot shaft knurls with a soft wire brush prior to installing the new wiper arm.

Scheme 18: Windshield Wiper Blade Replacement

Preliminary Procedures Lift the wiper arm off the windshield and hold. Depress and hold, the square button on the top side of the wiper arm end. Rotate the wiper blade assembly slightly downward. Slide the windshield wiper blade off the windshield wiper arm. Carefully set the windshield wiper arm onto the windshield.
1Windshield Wiper Blade Assembly Procedure Lift the windshield wiper arm off the windshield. Carefully slide the new windshield wiper blade into the windshield wiper arm end. An audible click should be heard when the wiper blade is in position. Pull on the wiper blade to ensure the wiper blade is locked onto the windshield wiper arm.

Scheme 19: Rear Window Wiper Blade Replacement

Preliminary Procedures Remove the rear wiper arm cover, lift the rear edge of the cover from the wiper arm and push the cover off the rear window wiper blade.
1Rear Window Wiper Blade Procedure Lift the rear window wiper of the rear liftgate glass. Release the lock under the sheep hook. Slide the wiper blade, rearward, from the rear wiper arm sheep hook.

Scheme 20: Windshield Wiper Motor Replacement

Preliminary Procedures Remove the windshield wiper transmission frame assembly. Refer to WINDSHIELD WIPER TRANSMISSION REPLACEMENT .
1Windshield Wiper Motor Bolt (Qty: 2) Refer to CAUTION: RETAINER . Tighten 8 Nm (71 lb in)
2Windshield Wiper Motor Procedure Using the J-39232 separator or similar tool, remove the transmission drive links from the wiper motor crank arm ball stud. Using the J-39529 installer or similar tool, install the wiper transmission drive links onto the wiper motor crank arm ball stud. NOTE: Apply a small amount of grease to the inner cup on the transmission links to aid in installation. Special Tools J-39232 Wiper Linkage Separator J-39529 Wiper Linkage Installer For equivalent regional tools, refer to SPECIAL TOOLS .

Scheme 21: Rear Window Wiper Motor Replacement

Preliminary Procedures Remove the liftgate lower trim finish panel. Refer to LIFTGATE LOWER TRIM FINISH PANEL REPLACEMENT . Remove the rear window wiper arm. Refer to REAR WINDOW WIPER ARM REPLACEMENT .
1Rear Window Wiper Motor Bolt (Qty: 3) Refer to CAUTION: RETAINER . Tighten 9 N m (80 lb in)
2Rear Window Wiper Motor Assembly Procedure Disconnect the electrical connector to the wiper motor. Carefully pull the wiper motor from the wiper motor pivot shaft seal. Inspect the wiper pivot shaft seal and replace if worn or shows signs of cracking.

Scheme 22: Windshield Wiper Transmission Replacement

Preliminary Procedures Open and support the hood assembly. Remove the air inlet grille panel. Refer to AIR INLET GRILLE PANEL REPLACEMENT . Disconnect the electrical connector from the windshield wiper motor.
1Windshield Wiper Transmission Bolt (Qty: 3) Refer to CAUTION: RETAINER . Tighten 9 N m (80 lb in)
2Windshield Wiper Transmission Procedure Push the windshield wiper transmission slightly rearward. Rotate the wiper transmission upward from the plenum area. Remove the wiper transmission from the plenum.

Scheme 23: Windshield Outside Moisture Sensor Replacement

1Inside Rear View Mirror Mounting Plate Cover Procedure Unsnap the mounting plate cover from the windshield outside moisture sensor bracket. Remove the right side from the left side in order to clear the inside rear view mirror.
2Windshield Outside Moisture Sensor Assembly Procedure Squeeze the outside moisture sensor tabs in order to disengage the windshield outside moisture sensor from the outside moisture sensor bracket tabs. Disengage the electrical connector from the moisture sensor. Remove the windshield outside moisture sensor from the outside moisture sensor bracket.
