- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to «LIFTING AND JACKING THE VEHICLE»(ref-652230-S26645367622014082300000) .
- Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to «TIRE AND WHEEL REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-652234-S18162824462014082300000) .
- Support the steering knuckle with a suitable stand.
- Disconnect the electric front suspension accelerometer link from the lower control arm, if equipped.
- Loosen the front lower control arm ball stud nut (2) from the ball joint.
- Using the CH 47975-A remover , separate the front lower control arm (3) from the steering knuckle (1).
- Remove the CH 47975-A remover
- Remove the front lower control arm rear nuts (1) and the front lower control arm rear bolts (2).
- NOTE: Note the position of the brackets. Remove front lower control arm front bolts (1) and the brackets (2).
- Remove the front lower control arm (1) from the vehicle.

- Position the front lower control arm (1) in the frame.
- WARNING: Failure to replace the front lower control brackets will cause premature wear and damage to the front lower control arm bushings. Refer to «FASTENER CAUTION»(ref-652229-S20487768742014082300000) . Install the front lower control arm front mounting brackets (2) bolts (1) and tighten to 100 Nm (74 lb ft) plus an additional 90 degrees.
- Install the front lower control arm rear bolts (2) and the front lower control arm rear nuts (1).
- Tighten the front lower control arm rear bolts (2) to 110 Nm (81 lb ft).
- Install the front lower control arm ball stud nut (2) to the ball joint and tighten to 30 Nm (22 lb ft) plus an additional 120 degrees.
- Reconnect the electric front suspension accelerometer link to the lower control arm, if equipped.
- Remove the support from the steering knuckle.
- Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to «TIRE AND WHEEL REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-652234-S18162824462014082300000) .
- Remove the support and lower the vehicle.

- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to «LIFTING AND JACKING THE VEHICLE»(ref-652230-S26645367622014082300000) .
- Remove the front lower control arm rear bolts. Refer to «LOWER CONTROL ARM REPLACEMENT»(ref-652269-S04488759102014082300000) .
- Remove and discard the front lower control arm bushing bolt (1). Replace with NEW only.
- Before removing the lower control arm bushing (1), note the location of the marking on the bushing (1).
- NOTE: Use care when repositioning the lower control arm so as not to over stress the bushing on the front of thew lower control arm. Position the control arm away from the underside of the vehicle to remove the bushing (1) from the lower control arm.

- Ensure that the lower control arm bushing (1) installed with the markings on the bushing (1) are facing the rear of the vehicle.
- Reposition the lower control arm in away to install the bushing (1).
- NOTE: DO NOT tighten the lower control arm bushing bolt until the vehicle is at curb height. Install the NEW lower control arm bushing bolt (1).
- Install the front lower control arm rear bolts. Refer to «LOWER CONTROL ARM REPLACEMENT»(ref-652269-S04488759102014082300000)
- With the vehicle at curb height, tighten the lower control arm bushing bolt (1) to 55 Nm 41 lb ft plus 90 degrees.
- Verify the front wheel alignment. Refer to «WHEEL ALIGNMENT SPECIFICATIONS»(ref-652234-S37338046442014082300000) .

- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to «LIFTING AND JACKING THE VEHICLE»(ref-652230-S26645367622014082300000) .
- Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to «TIRE AND WHEEL REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-652234-S18162824462014082300000) .
- Remove the stabilizer shaft link from the strut. Refer to «STABILIZER SHAFT LINK REPLACEMENT»(ref-652269-S22846173822014082300000) .
- Disconnect the head lamp level sensor link from the lower control arm, if equipped. Refer to «HEADLAMP LEVELING FRONT SUSPENSION HEIGHT SENSOR REPLACEMENT»(ref-652253-S01374247182014082300000) .
- NOTE: DO NOT allow the lower control arm and the steering knuckle drop more than 2 inches when the strut assembly has been removed. Support the lower control arm and the steering knuckle.
- Disconnect the electrical harness/sensor from the strut, if equipped.
- Remove the front compartment side sight shields. Refer to «FRONT COMPARTMENT SIDE SIGHT SHIELD REPLACEMENT»(ref-652252-S09269302382014082300000) .
- Using the CH 49375 wrench, remove the front suspension strut mount nut (1) and the front suspension strut mount washer (2).
- Remove the front suspension strut bolts (4) and the front suspension strut nuts (3).
- Remove the front suspension strut assembly (1) from the vehicle

- Position the front suspension strut assembly (1) in the vehicle.
- Refer to «FASTENER CAUTION»(ref-652229-S20487768742014082300000) . Using the CH 49375 wrench , install front suspension strut mount washer (2) and the front suspension strut mount nut (1), then tighten the front suspension strut mount nut to 75 (52 lb ft).
- Install the front suspension strut bolts (4) and the front suspension strut nuts (3).
- Tighten the front suspension strut bolts to: First Pass: 110 Nm (81 lb ft) Final Pass: plus 150 degrees
- Re-connect the electrical harness/sensor from the strut, if equipped.
- Reconnect the head lamp level sensor link to the lower control arm, if equipped. Refer to «HEADLAMP LEVELING FRONT SUSPENSION HEIGHT SENSOR REPLACEMENT»(ref-652253-S01374247182014082300000) .
- Remove the support from the lower control arm and the steering knuckle.
- Install the front stabilizer shaft link. Refer to «STABILIZER SHAFT LINK REPLACEMENT»(ref-652269-S22846173822014082300000) .
- Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to «TIRE AND WHEEL REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-652234-S18162824462014082300000) .
- Install the front compartment side sight shields. Refer to «FRONT COMPARTMENT SIDE SIGHT SHIELD REPLACEMENT»(ref-652252-S09269302382014082300000) .
- Remove the support and lower the vehicle.

- Disconnect the battery negative cable.
- Remove the bolt (1) from the coupler and disconnect the steering shaft coupling from the steering gear. Refer to «INTERMEDIATE STEERING SHAFT REPLACEMENT»(ref-652245-S17619981442014082300000)
- Remove the left catalytic converter and pipe assembly. Refer to «CATALYTIC CONVERTER REPLACEMENT - LEFT SIDE (LF1)»(ref-652240-S03410191142014082300000) .
- On AWD vehicles, remove the propeller shaft. Refer to «PROPELLER SHAFT REPLACEMENT»(ref-652248-S08886943342014082300000)
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to «LIFTING AND JACKING THE VEHICLE»(ref-652230-S26645367622014082300000)
- Remove the front wheels. Refer to «TIRE AND WHEEL REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-652234-S18162824462014082300000) .
- Remove the radiator air lower deflector. Refer to «RADIATOR AIR LOWER DEFLECTOR REPLACEMENT»(ref-652246-S08001852322014082300000) .
- Remove the lower ball joint fastener (2).
- Separate the lower ball joints from the steering knuckles (1). Refer to «LOWER CONTROL ARM REPLACEMENT»(ref-652269-S04488759102014082300000) .
- Remove the electrical harness and the power steering cooler line from the clips in the frame.
- Remove the front transmission mount through bolt (1).
- Prepare the CH-904 Basic tool and the CH-49289 Support frame fixture according to the SPX instructions
- Install CH-49289 Support frame fixture (2) at the front suspension frame
- Remove the frame-to-body bolts.
- Remove the rear transmission mount through bolt (1).
- Carefully lower the suspension frame with the Hydraulic lifter
- If replacing the frame, transfer components as necessary.

- Carefully raise the frame until it contacts the vehicle.
- Position the support frame using the guide pins.
- Refer to «FASTENER CAUTION»(ref-652229-S20487768742014082300000) . Install the 2 rear frame to body bolts and tighten to 100 Nm (74 lb ft) plus 90 degrees.
- Install the 2 front frame to body bolts and tighten to 100 Nm (74 lb ft) plus 90 degrees.
- Install the reinforcement bolts and tighten to 45 Nm (33 lb ft) plus 30 degrees.
- Install the electrical harness and the power steering cooler line to the clips in the frame.
- Connect the ball joint studs to the steering knuckles (1). Refer to «LOWER CONTROL ARM REPLACEMENT»(ref-652269-S04488759102014082300000) .
- Install the ball joint fastener (2) to the ball joint and tighten to 30 Nm (22 lb ft) plus an additional 130 degrees.
- Install the rear transmission mount through bolt (1) and tighten to 100 Nm (74 lb ft).
- Install the front transmission mount through bolt (1) and nut. Tighten to 100 Nm (74 lb ft).
- Remove the special tools.
- On AWD vehicles, install the propeller shaft. Refer to «PROPELLER SHAFT REPLACEMENT»(ref-652248-S08886943342014082300000) .
- Install the left catalytic converter and pipe assembly. Refer to «CATALYTIC CONVERTER REPLACEMENT - LEFT SIDE (LF1)»(ref-652240-S03410191142014082300000) .
- Install the radiator air lower deflector. Refer to «RADIATOR AIR LOWER DEFLECTOR REPLACEMENT»(ref-652246-S08001852322014082300000) .
- Install the front wheels. Refer to «TIRE AND WHEEL REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-652234-S18162824462014082300000) .
- Lower the vehicle.
- Check the wheel alignment.
