Calibration Criteria

Note. Do not apply the brake pedal during the brake pedal position sensor calibration procedure. Any movement of the brake pedal during this procedure will cause the calibration procedure to fail. If this occurs, the brake pedal position sensor calibration must be repeated.

Brake pedal position sensor calibration must be performed after the brake pedal position sensor or body control module (BCM) have been serviced. The calibration procedure will set the brake pedal position sensor home value. This value is used by the BCM to determine the action of the driver applying the brake system and to provide this information to the vehicle subsystems via serial data.

Calibration Procedure

  1. Apply the parking brake.
  2. Place the transmission in the PARK position.
  3. Install a scan tool.
  4. Clear all BCM DTCs before proceeding.
  5. Navigate to the Module Diagnosis menu.
  6. Select BCM menu item.
  7. Select Configuration/Reset Functions menu item.
  8. Select the Brake Pedal Position Sensor Learn procedure and follow the directions displayed on the screen.

2Brake Pedal Position Sensor Procedure Disconnect the electrical connector. Pull the sensor away from the bracket. Recalibrate the brake pedal position sensor. Refer to BRAKE PEDAL POSITION SENSOR CALIBRATION .

2Headlamp Assembly Procedure 2 Lift slightly then pull the headlamp assembly forward and disconnect the electrical harness connector from the back side of the headlamp. Aim the headlamps after the installation is complete. Refer to HEADLAMP AIMING .

1Headlamp Bulb Accessory Cover Procedure Rotate the accessory bulb cover counter-clockwise and remove from the headlamp housing.
2Headlamp Bulb (Low Beam) Procedure Disconnect the electrical connector from the low beam bulb lamp socket. Rotate the bulb counter-clockwise and remove.

Refer to HEADLAMP REPLACEMENT (T84 T85) or HEADLAMP REPLACEMENT (TT6 HID) . Remove the headlamp accessory cover. Disconnect the electrical harness connector from the headlamp igniter.
1Ballast Screw (Qty: 3) Refer to CAUTION: RETAINER
2Headlamp Ballast Procedure Pull the ballast from the bottom side of the headlamp housing and disconnect the electrical connector.

1Headlamp Bulb Accessory Cover Procedure Rotate the headlamp accessory bulb cover counter-clockwise and remove.
2Headlamp Starter and Cable Procedure Disconnect the starter and cable assembly from the headlamp high intensity discharge bulb housing assembly.
3High Intensity Discharge Bulb Squeeze the retainer clip at the top securing the high intensity discharge bulb to the headlamp housing. Remove the bulb from the headlamp assembly.

2Headlamp Capsule Procedure Lift slightly then pull the headlamp capsule forward and disconnect the electrical harness connector from the back side of the headlamp. Remove and transfer the accessory bulb covers. Remove and transfer the headlamp bulbs. Remove and transfer the headlamp ballast.

Never probe between the high intensity discharge system ballast output connector and the arc tube assembly.
