Checks

Check the fuel tank, fuel lines and connections/quick-release couplings with respect to damage and leaks. These checks should be carried out both under the car and in the engine bay.

IMPORTANTCheck that the fuel leads are secure in their mountings. Otherwise there is a risk of damage from the subsequent leakage.

  1. Place the car on a lift.
  2. Raise the car.
  3. Remove the tank strap. If both tank straps are to be replaced then remove and fit them one at a time. Place a column lift under the tank. Remove the connector (A) from its bracket. Remove the bolts (B) for the tank strap (C). Remove the tank strap (C).
  1. Fit the tank strap. Secure the tank strap (C) and fit the bolts (B). Remove the column lift. Fit the connector (A) to its bracket.
  2. Lower the car. Check that components and connections have not sustained damage.
