OXYGEN SENSOR WARNING LIGHT RESET - PROCEDURE 1

Note. Except turbo models.

  1. EXH maintenance light on dash comes on every 30,000 miles to indicate oxygen sensor should be replaced. After replacing oxygen sensor, reset mileage counter.
  2. To reset mileage counter for EXH light, press reset button on mileage counter located under instrument cluster, next to flasher relay. (Scheme 1)

SERVICE INDICATOR RESET - PROCEDURE 1

If "TIME FOR SERVICE" appears on Saab Information Display (SID) display, press CLEAR button for at least 8 seconds. SERVICE or TIME FOR SERVICE will appear on the display and an audible signal will sound. Service message will be displayed for the next 20 key on cycles. On 21st key on cycle, service indicator will automatically reset.

SERVICE INDICATOR RESET - PROCEDURE 2

  1. SID 1 and 2 are equipped with a service indicator which shows the message TIME FOR SERVICE on the Saab Information Display (SID) display when it is time to service the car. Time for this is controlled by the odometer which shows how far the car has travelled since the last service, and the day counter which calculates the number of days since the last service.
  2. Service interval is programmable and is programmed during production according to the various markets. If necessary, the interval can be changed using the diagnostic tool. Service message is shown when the day counter reaches 365 days or when 600 miles are left until the next service, whichever is the sooner.
  3. The message is shown when ignition is turned on and reads CHECKING. To manually reset service indicator, go to next step. The service message will reset automatically when it has been activated (shown) on the display 20 times.
  4. Reset the service indicator by first pressing briefly on the CLEAR button to confirm the message. Then hold down the CLEAR button for at least 8 seconds. CLEAR is displayed after 4 seconds and SERVICE after a further 4 seconds. The SID gives 2 acoustic signals in quick succession. On the second signal SERVICE starts to flash. Resetting means that the service interval is recalculated and the day counter zeroed.

  1. Set ignition lock ON position.
  2. Press CUSTOMIZE button on the Saab Information Display (SID) control panel.
  3. Select "System settings" from menu, followed by "Service Info".
  4. Select "Reset Service Ind".
  5. Select "YES" then press the INFO knob (SET) to reset message.

Reset service indicator by first confirming message by briefly pressing CLEAR button on the Saab Information Display (SID). Then press in the CLEAR button for 8 seconds. CLEAR is shown after 4 seconds and then SERVICE is shown for another 4 seconds, indicating that service indicator is reset.

ENGINE OIL LIFE SYSTEM RESET - PROCEDURE 1

  1. Use fuel button on Driver Information Center to reach the ENGINE OIL LIFE screen.
  2. Press and hold select button on Driver Information Center 5 seconds while ENGINE OIL LIFE is displayed.
  3. OIL LIFE RESET will appear on Driver Information Center (DIC) display for 10 seconds to let you know system is reset.

If change engine oil light comes back on when you start vehicle, engine oil life system has not reset. Repeat procedure.

ENGINE OIL LIFE SYSTEM RESET - PROCEDURE 2

The menu is navigated via the steering wheel buttons and the information is displayed in SID.

  1. Turn the ignition key to the ON position (engine should be off).
  2. Select Settings using the INFO button. Hold the SET button depressed until it beeps.
  3. Select Time for Service using the INFO button. Hold the SET button depressed until it beeps.
  4. Select YES using the INFO button.
  5. Cars with diesel engine: Hold the brake pedal depressed.
  6. Reset the service indicator via a brief press on the SET button.
  7. Turn the ignition key to the "LOCK" position.

ENGINE OIL LIFE SYSTEM RESET - PROCEDURE 3

  1. Display OIL LIFE RESET on the driver information center (DIC).
  2. Press and hold the ENTER button for at least one second. An ACKNOWLEDGED display message will appear for 3 seconds or until the next button is pressed. This will tell you the system has been reset.
  3. Turn the key OFF. NOTE: If the CHANGE ENGINE OIL light comes back on and stays on when you start the vehicle, the engine oil life system has not been reset. Repeat the procedure.

TPMS RESET - PROCEDURE 1

Note. Before proceeding with the steps below, ensure that no other sensor learn procedure is being performed simultaneously, or that tire pressures are not being adjusted on a TPM equipped vehicle within close proximity.

Note. In the following procedure, a TPM Sensor Activation Tool (J-46079) may be used in place of increasing/decreasing pressures to enable sensor. To use, place activator antenna against the tire sidewall close to the wheel rim at the valve stem location, then press and release the ACTIVATE button.

Note. If TPM Sensor Activation Tool (J-46079) is used, and vehicle is having trouble entering relearn mode, check batteries in activation tool. Low batteries may allow some functions to work, but not allow vehicle to perform learn function. When the internal battery is fresh (fully charged), the indicator is "full" or all dark. When the battery is depleted, the indicator shows "empty" or all light.

  1. Turn ignition switch to ON position, with engine off. Apply parking brake. NOTE: If learn mode cannot be enabled, TPM system is not enabled in LGM. See appropriate manufacturer service information.
  2. Turn headlight switch from OFF to parking lamps 4 times within 4 seconds. A double horn chirp will sound and the low tire pressure indicator will begin to flash to indicate the learn mode has been enabled. WARNING: Overinflating tires may cause personal injury or damage to the tires and wheels. When increasing tire pressure, do not exceed the maximum inflation pressure as noted on the tire sidewall.
  3. Starting with left front tire, increase or decrease the pressure for 8-10 seconds, or until a horn chirp sounds. Horn chirp may occur before the 8-10 second pressure increase/decrease time period has been reached, or up to 30 seconds after the 8-10 second pressure increase/decrease time period has been reached.
  4. After horn chirp has sounded, proceed as in step 3 for the next 3 sensors in the following order: right front, right rear and left rear.
  5. After left rear sensor has been learned, turn ignition switch to OFF position to exit the learn mode. Adjust all tire pressures to specification.

TPMS RESET - PROCEDURE 2

Re-learn occurs automatically after the vehicle has been shut off for more than 15 minutes. Each time the vehicle is driven at a speed 20 km/h or more, the TPM module goes through a teach-in mode (9-3) or automatic programming (9-5) to learn which TPMS sensor corresponds to which tire.

When the TPM module or TPMS sensor is replaced or the tire dimensions change, the TPM module must be calibrated using a Tech2.
