Installing side window

Installation Location

1. Checking seals

1.1. Check rubber seal on the inside of the C-pillar decorative cover to ensure that it is fitted correctly and not damaged; if necessary, replace it.

1.2. Check side window seal for damage.

2.1. Engage connecting piece -6- of the side window trim strip -4- to the roof trim strip -5-. To do this, insert the side window trim strip from the rear into the roof trim strip -arrow A- and press upward slightly ( -arrow B- ). (Scheme 130), (Scheme 131).

2.2. Swivel side window -3- to the rear in the lower area -arrow C- and push it inward ( -arrows D- ). (Scheme 132)

2.3. Insert side window -3- inward into the side window opening ( -arrow E- ). (Scheme 133)

2.4. Screw in fastening nuts -2- ( -arrow F- ) and tighten to the specified tightening torque --> Tightening torque: 4.5 (3.5) Nm. see scheme 154

3. Folding up roof lining

Note. Make sure that the roof cover does not buckle.

3.1. Carefully fold up roof lining -1- in the rear, side area ( -arrow G- ). (Scheme 134)

1. Install rear handles at left and right. Refer to 68 37 19 Removing and installing rear handle - as of MY 2003 (All Models) .

6. Close rear door and lid.

1. Remove rear spoiler.
