Installing side window
Installation Location
Note. The removed side window can be reinstalled if
- there is no prior damage to the side window.
- the side window was removed without being damaged.
Scheme 93
1. Slightly pull out seal for side window -1-. (Scheme 92)

2. Insert side window -1- into the side window seal -2- -Arrow A- and press them together into the side panel -Arrow B-. see scheme 125
3. Fit fastening nuts -1- top and bottom. (Scheme 93)

4. Rivet down seal for side window -1- with rivet -2-. (Scheme 94)
5. Press in rubber seal for door. Refer to 57 63 19 Removing and installing rubber seal for door - as of MY 2006 (Cayman S, Cayman S RHD) .
Scheme 96
6. Adjust side window to door glass using the specified adjustment dimensions and tolerances. --> Gap dimension A: 7 mm +/-1 mm
7. Tighten fastening nuts. --> Tightening torque: 4 mm +/-0.5 mm
1. Clip A-pillar trim panel into place in area of B-pillar trim panel.
2. Install deflector for front three-point belt. Refer to 69 11 19 Removing and installing front three-point belt - as of MY 2006 (Cayman S, Cayman S RHD) .
3. Install oddments tray. Refer to 70 66 19 Removing and installing oddments tray - as of MY 2006 (Cayman S, Cayman S RHD) .

Scheme 97
1. Drill out rivets -2- from the integrated sheetmetal strip of the seal for the side window -1- using a 4.1 mm drill bit. (Scheme 95)
2. Unclip side window seal -1- and remove. (Scheme 95)
Scheme 98
1. Position seal for side window -1- on the centering hole and rivet down with the rivets -2-, starting from the top right. (Scheme 96)
2. Clip grommet -3- into the side panel and then press side window seal -3- into the side panel. (Scheme 96)

The following tools and materials are required for removing and installing the windscreen with 2-component adhesive
A - Double cartridge gun VAS 5237 - see Workshop Equipment Manual, Chapter 3.5

C - Special electric cutter (fine) VAG 1561 A - see Workshop Equipment Manual, Chapter 3.5

H - 2-component window adhesive 000.043.300.94, contains set components H1-H8; see Parts Catalogue, Main Group 8
