Removal Procedure
- Install the Engine Support Fixture. Refer to «Engine Support Fixture»(ref-200078-S05010363292005102000000) in Engine Mechanical - 1.8L (LV6) or to «Engine Support Fixture»(ref-200079-S23628137242005102000000) in Engine Mechanical - 1.8L (LNK).
- Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to «Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle»(ref-200076-S37188174922005102000000) in General Information.
- Remove the front tire and wheel assemblies. Refer to «Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation»(ref-200080-S33140753802005102000000) in Tires and Wheels.
- Remove the engine splash shields. Refer to «Splash Shield Replacement - Engine - Left»(ref-200071-S14425227362005102000000) and «Splash Shield Replacement - Engine - Right»(ref-200071-S04694985752005102000000) in Body Front End.
- Remove the nut (1) and bolt (3) from the front transmission mount (9) and bracket (2).
- Remove the following components from the crossmember (8): The front bolts (7) The rear bolts (6) The rear transmission mount nut (5) The front suspension dampener (4), if necessary, 2WD models only The front transmission mount (9), if necessary
- Remove the transaxle support (8) from the front suspension crossmember.
Installation Procedure
- Install the transaxle support (8) to the front suspension crossmember.
- Install the front transmission mount (9), if removed.
- Install the front suspension dampener (4), if removed, 2WD models only.
- Install the transaxle support (8) to the vehicle.
- Install the rear transmission mount nut (5) to the transaxle support (8). Tighten: Tighten the rear transaxle mount nut to 52 N.m (38 lb ft).
- Install the front bolts (7) to the transaxle support (8). Tighten: Tighten the front bolts to 39 N.m (29 lb ft).
- Install the rear bolts (6) to the transaxle support (8). Tighten: Tighten the rear bolts to 52 N.m (38 lb ft).
- Install the bolt (3) and nut (1), to the front transmission mount (9) and bracket (2). Tighten: Tighten the nut and bolt to 52 N.m (38 lb ft).
- Install the engine splash shields. Refer to «Splash Shield Replacement - Engine - Left»(ref-200071-S14425227362005102000000) and «Splash Shield Replacement - Engine - Right»(ref-200071-S04694985752005102000000) in Body Front End.
- Install the tire and wheel assemblies. Refer to «Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation»(ref-200080-S33140753802005102000000) in Tires and Wheels.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Remove the Engine Support Fixture. Refer to «Engine Support Fixture»(ref-200078-S05010363292005102000000) in Engine Mechanical - 1.8L (LV6) or to «Engine Support Fixture»(ref-200079-S23628137242005102000000) in Engine Mechanical - 1.8L (LNK).
- If you are removing the crossmember WITH the steering gear, remove the following components. Refer to «Power Steering Gear Replacement (FWD)»(ref-200081-S11059111212005102000000) in Power Steering. The lower steering shaft coupling bolt The steering column hole cover The 2 outer tie rod ends The pressure and return pipes The pipe bracket
- Install the engine support fixture. Refer to «Engine Support Fixture»(ref-200078-S05010363292005102000000) in Engine Mechanical - 1.8L (LV6) or to «Engine Support Fixture»(ref-200079-S23628137242005102000000) in Engine Mechanical - 1.8L (LNK).
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to «Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle»(ref-200076-S37188174922005102000000) in General Information.
- Remove the front tire and wheel assemblies from the vehicle. Refer to «Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation»(ref-200080-S33140753802005102000000) in Tires and Wheels.
- Use a 6 mm wrench in order to hold the left front stabilizer shaft link stud. Remove the nut from the stud in order to separate the link (3) from the left front strut.
- Use a 6 mm wrench in order to hold the right front stabilizer shaft link stud. Remove the nut from the stud in order to separate the link from the right front strut.
- Remove the left engine splash shield. Refer to «Splash Shield Replacement - Engine - Left»(ref-200071-S14425227362005102000000) in Body Front End.
- Remove the right engine splash shield. Refer to «Splash Shield Replacement - Engine - Right»(ref-200071-S04694985752005102000000) in Body Front End.
- Remove the following components from the left control arm: The bolt (3) The 2 nuts (1, 2)
- Remove the following components from the right control arm: The bolt The 2 nuts
- If you are removing the crossmember WITHOUT the steering gear, complete the following steps: Use wire in order to suspend the steering gear (11). Remove the 4 bolts (7, 12, 13, 14).
- Remove the 5 bolts (1, 2, 3, 4, 5).
- Remove the 3 nuts (9, 10, 11).
- Support the crossmember with a jack.
- Remove the 4 bolts (6, 8, 13, 15).
- Use the jack in order to lower the crossmember.
- Remove the 2 bolts and the trans support from the crossmember.
- Remove the 2 control arms. Refer to «Lower Control Arm Replacement»(ref-200082-S15073712982005102000000) .
- Remove the following components from the crossmember. Refer to «Stabilizer Shaft Replacement (FWD)»(ref-200082-S12420719242005102000000) . The 2 stabilizer shaft link nuts The 2 stabilizer shaft links The 4 stabilizer clamp bolts The 2 stabilizer clamps The 2 stabilizer shaft insulators The stabilizer shaft
- If you removed the crossmember WITH the steering gear, remove the steering gear from the crossmember. Refer to «Power Steering Gear Replacement (FWD)»(ref-200081-S11059111212005102000000) in Power Steering System.
- If you are installing the crossmember WITH the steering gear, install the steering gear to the crossmember. Refer to «Power Steering Gear Replacement (FWD)»(ref-200081-S11059111212005102000000) in Power Steering System.
- Install the following components to the crossmember. Refer to «Stabilizer Shaft Replacement (FWD)»(ref-200082-S12420719242005102000000) . The 2 stabilizer shaft link nuts The 2 stabilizer shaft links The 4 stabilizer clamp bolts The 2 stabilizer clamps The 2 stabilizer shaft insulators The stabilizer shaft
- Install the following components to the crossmember: The left lower control arm (2) The 2 bolts (1, 4) The nut (3)
- Install the following components to the crossmember: The right lower control arm The 2 bolts The nut
- Install the trans support and the 2 bolts to the crossmember. Tighten: Tighten the bolts to 52 N.m (38.4 lb ft).
- Use a jack in order to raise and support the crossmember with the attached components as a unit.
- Insert a wood dowel (1) into the hole in the right side of the crossmember (3) and the hole in the body.
- Use the dowel in order to align the bolt holes.
- Install the 2 bolts (1, 2) to the crossmember.
- Insert the dowel into the hole in the left side of the crossmember and the hole in the body.
- Use the dowel in order to align the bolt holes.
- Install the 2 bolts to the crossmember (8, 6).
- Insert the dowel into the hole in the right side of the crossmember and the hole in the body.
- Use the dowel in order to align the bolt holes.
- Install the bolt (13). Tighten: Tighten the bolt to 157 N.m (115.8 lb ft).
- Install the bolt (15). Tighten: Tighten the bolt to 113 N.m (83.3 lb ft).
- Insert the dowel into the hole in the left side of the crossmember and the hole in the body.
- Use the dowel in order to align the bolt holes.
- Install the bolt (8). Tighten: Tighten the bolt to 157 N.m (115.8 lb ft).
- Install the bolt (6). Tighten: Tighten the bolt to 113 N.m (83.3 lb ft).
- Remove the jack from the crossmember.
- Install the 3 nuts (9, 10, 11). Tighten: Tighten the nuts to 52 N.m (38.4 lb ft).
- Install the 5 bolts (1, 2, 3, 4, 5). Tighten: Tighten the bolts to 52 N.m (38.4 lb ft).
- If you are installing the crossmember WITHOUT the steering gear, complete the following steps: Install the 4 bolts (7, 12, 13, 14). Tighten: Tighten the bolts to 58 N.m (42.8 lb ft). Remove the wire from the steering gear (11).
- Install the following to the left front control arm: The 2 nuts (1, 2) The bolt (3) Tighten: Tighten the 2 nuts and the bolt to 89 N.m (65.6 lb ft).
- Install the following to the right front control arm: The 2 nuts The bolt Tighten: Tighten the 2 nuts and the bolt to 89 N.m (65.6 lb ft).
- Install the left engine splash shield. Refer to «Splash Shield Replacement - Engine - Left»(ref-200071-S14425227362005102000000) in Body Front End.
- Install the right engine splash shield. Refer to «Splash Shield Replacement - Engine - Right»(ref-200071-S04694985752005102000000) in Body Front End.
- Use a 6 mm wrench in order to hold the left front stabilizer shaft link stud (2) to the stabilizer link (3). Install the nut and the stud to the strut bracket (1). Tighten: Tighten the nut to 74 N.m (54.6 lb ft).
- Use a 6 mm wrench in order to hold the right front stabilizer shaft link stud (2) to the stabilizer link (3). Install the nut and the stud to the strut bracket (1). Tighten: Tighten the nut to 74 N.m (54.6 lb ft).
- Install the front tire and wheel assemblies to the vehicle. Refer to «Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation»(ref-200080-S33140753802005102000000) in Tires and Wheels.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Remove the engine support fixture. Refer to «Engine Support Fixture»(ref-200078-S05010363292005102000000) in Engine Mechanical - 1.8L (LV6) or «Engine Support Fixture»(ref-200079-S23628137242005102000000) in Engine Mechanical - 1.8L (LNK).
- If you are installing the crossmember WITH the steering gear, install the following components. Refer to «Power Steering Gear Replacement (FWD)»(ref-200081-S11059111212005102000000) in Power Steering System. The lower steering shaft coupling bolt The steering column hole cover The 2 outer tie rod ends The pressure and return pipes The pipe bracket
- With the weight of the vehicle on the tire and wheel assemblies, push down on the front bumper 3 times in order to bounce the vehicle and stabilize the suspension.
- Install the nut (3) and the 2 bolts (1,4) on the left lower control arm. Tighten: Tighten the nut and the 2 bolts to 137 N.m (101.0 lb ft).
- Install the nut and the 2 bolts on the right lower control arm. Tighten: Tighten the nut and the 2 bolts to 137 N.m (101.0 lb ft).
- Measure the wheel alignment. Adjust if necessary. Refer to «Measuring Wheel Alignment»(ref-200083-S06635018562005102000000) in Wheel Alignment.
- If you are removing the steering gear WITH the crossmember, remove the following components. Refer to «Power Steering Gear Replacement (AWD)»(ref-200081-S18438969842005102000000) in Power Steering System. The lower steering shaft coupling bolt The steering column hole cover The 2 outer tie rod ends The pressure and return pipes The pipe bracket
- Install the engine support fixture. Refer to «Engine Support Fixture»(ref-200078-S05010363292005102000000) in Engine Mechanical - 1.8L (LV6).
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to «Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle»(ref-200076-S37188174922005102000000) in General Information.
- Remove the front tire and wheel assemblies from the vehicle. Refer to «Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation»(ref-200080-S33140753802005102000000) in Tires and Wheels.
- Use a 6 mm wrench in order to hold the left front stabilizer shaft link stud. Remove the nut from the stud in order to separate the link (3) from the left front strut.
- Use a 6 mm wrench in order to hold the right front stabilizer shaft link stud. Remove the nut from the stud in order to separate the link from the right front strut.
- Remove the left engine splash shield. Refer to «Splash Shield Replacement - Engine - Left»(ref-200071-S14425227362005102000000) in Body Front End.
- Remove the right engine splash shield. Refer to «Splash Shield Replacement - Engine - Right»(ref-200071-S04694985752005102000000) in Body Front End.
- Remove the following components from the left control arm: The bolt (3) The 2 nuts (1, 2)
- Remove the following components from the right control arm: The bolt The 2 nuts
- If you are removing the crossmember WITHOUT the steering gear, complete the following steps: Use wire in order to suspend the steering gear (11). Remove the 2 nuts (6, 7) and the 2 bolts (12, 13).
- Remove the 2 nuts (2, 5) and the bolt (6).
- Support the crossmember with a jack.
- Remove the 4 bolts (1, 3, 4, 7).
- Use the jack in order to lower the crossmember.
- Remove the 2 control arms. Refer to «Lower Control Arm Replacement»(ref-200082-S15073712982005102000000) in Front Suspension.
- Remove the following components from the crossmember. Refer to «Stabilizer Shaft Replacement (AWD)»(ref-200082-S06496284772005102000000) in Front Suspension. The 2 stabilizer shaft link nuts The 2 stabilizer shaft links The 4 stabilizer shaft insulator clamp bolts The 2 stabilizer shaft insulator clamps The 2 stabilizer shaft insulators The stabilizer shaft
- If you removed the crossmember WITH the steering gear, remove the steering gear from the crossmember. Refer to «Power Steering Gear Replacement (AWD)»(ref-200081-S18438969842005102000000) in Power Steering System.
- If you are installing the crossmember WITH the steering gear, install the steering gear to the crossmember. Refer to «Power Steering Gear Replacement (AWD)»(ref-200081-S18438969842005102000000) in Power Steering System.
- Install the following components to the crossmember. Refer to «Stabilizer Shaft Replacement (AWD)»(ref-200082-S06496284772005102000000) in Front Suspension. The 2 stabilizer shaft link nuts The 2 stabilizer shaft links The 4 stabilizer shaft insulator clamp bolts The 2 stabilizer shaft insulator clamps The 2 stabilizer shaft insulators The stabilizer shaft
- Install the following components to the crossmember: The left lower control arm (2) The 2 bolts (1, 4) The nut (3)
- Install the following components to the crossmember: The right lower control arm The 2 bolts The nut
- Use a jack in order to raise and support the crossmember with the attached components as a unit.
- Insert a wood dowel (1) into the hole in the right side of the crossmember (3) and the hole in the body.
- Use the dowel in order to align the bolt holes.
- Install the 2 bolts (1, 2) to the crossmember.
- Insert a wood dowel into the hole in the left side of the crossmember and the hole in the body.
- Use the dowel in order to align the bolt holes.
- Install the 2 bolts to the crossmember (3, 4).
- Insert a wood dowel into the hole in the right side of the crossmember and the hole in the body.
- Use the dowel in order to align the bolt holes.
- Install the bolt (7). Tighten: Tighten the bolt to 157 N.m (115.8 lb ft).
- Install the bolt (1). Tighten: Tighten the bolt to 113 N.m (83.3 lb ft).
- Insert a wood dowel into the hole in the left side of the crossmember and the hole in the body.
- Use the dowel in order to align the bolt holes.
- Install the bolt (4). Tighten: Tighten the bolt to 157 N.m (115.8 lb ft).
- Install the bolt (3). Tighten: Tighten the bolt to 113 N.m (83.3 lb ft).
- Remove the jack from the crossmember.
- Install the 2 nuts (2, 5) and the bolt (6). Tighten: Tighten the nuts and the bolt to 52 N.m (38.4 lb ft).
- If you are installing the crossmember WITHOUT the steering gear, complete the following steps: Install the 2 nuts (6, 7) and the 2 bolts (12, 13). Tighten: Tighten the bolts to 127 N.m (93.7 lb ft). Remove the wire from the steering gear (11).
- Install the following to the left front control arm: The 2 nuts (1, 2) The bolt (3) Tighten: Tighten the 2 nuts and the bolt to 89 N.m (65.6 lb ft).
- Install the following to the right front control arm: The 2 nuts The bolt Tighten: Tighten the 2 nuts and the bolt to 89 N.m (65.6 lb ft).
- Install the left engine splash shield. Refer to «Splash Shield Replacement - Engine - Left»(ref-200071-S14425227362005102000000) in Body Front End.
- Install the right engine splash shield. Refer to «Splash Shield Replacement - Engine - Right»(ref-200071-S04694985752005102000000) in Body Front End.
- Use a 6 mm wrench in order to hold the left front stabilizer shaft link stud. Install the nut and the stud to the strut bracket (1). Tighten: Tighten the nut to 74 N.m (54.6 lb ft).
- Use a 6 mm wrench in order to hold the right front stabilizer shaft link stud. Install the nut and the stud to the strut bracket. Tighten: Tighten the nut to 74 N.m (54.6 lb ft).
- Install the front tire and wheel assemblies to the vehicle. Refer to «Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation»(ref-200080-S33140753802005102000000) in Tires and Wheels.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Remove the engine support fixture. Refer to «Engine Support Fixture»(ref-200078-S05010363292005102000000) in Engine Mechanical - 1.8L (LV6).
- If you are installing the crossmember WITH the steering gear, install the following components. Refer to «Power Steering Gear Replacement (AWD)»(ref-200081-S18438969842005102000000) in Power Steering System. The lower steering shaft coupling bolt The steering column hole cover The 2 outer tie rod ends The pressure and return pipes The pipe bracket
- With the weight of the vehicle on the tire and wheel assemblies, push down on the front bumper 3 times in order to bounce the vehicle and stabilize the suspension.
- Install the nut (3) and the 2 bolts (1, 4) on the left lower control arm. Tighten: Tighten the nut and the 2 bolts to 137 N.m (101 lb ft).
- Install the nut and the 2 bolts on the right lower control arm. Tighten: Tighten the nut and the 2 bolts to 137 N.m (101 lb ft).
- Measure the wheel alignment. Adjust if necessary. Refer to «Measuring Wheel Alignment»(ref-200083-S06635018562005102000000) in Wheel Alignment.
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to «Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle»(ref-200076-S37188174922005102000000) in General Information.
- Remove the 2 rear tire and wheel assemblies. Refer to «Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation»(ref-200080-S33140753802005102000000) in Tires and Wheels.
- Remove the catalytic converter. Refer to «Catalytic Converter Replacement (LV6 Engine)»(ref-200084-S23866561112005102000000) or «Catalytic Converter Replacement (LNK Engine)»(ref-200084-S26932355542005102000000) in Engine Exhaust.
- Remove the propeller shaft. Refer to «Propeller Shaft Replacement - Two Piece»(ref-200085-S26257744062005102000000) in Propeller Shaft.
- Remove the left rear park brake cable from the equalizer. Refer to «Park Brake Cable Replacement - Left Rear»(ref-200086-S10300371032005102000000) in Park Brake.
- Remove the right rear park brake cable from the equalizer. Refer to «Park Brake Cable Replacement - Right Rear»(ref-200086-S14893842782005102000000) in Park Brake.
- If the vehicle has ABS, remove the 2 rear wheel speed sensors and pigtails. Refer to «Wheel Speed Sensor Replacement - Rear (FWD)»(ref-200087-S19575871772005102000000) or «Wheel Speed Sensor Replacement - Rear (AWD)»(ref-200087-S38170734842005102000000) in Anti-lock Brake System.
- Use containers in order to catch the brake fluid.
- Remove the brake pipe from the left wheel cylinder.
- Remove the brake pipe from the right wheel cylinder.
- Remove the nut (4) and the bolt (5) in order to separate the left rear shock absorber from the lower control arm.
- Remove the nut and the bolt in order to separate the right rear shock absorber from the lower control arm.
- Remove the 3 bolts (1, 3, 4) in order to separate the front of the left rear lower control arm (2) from the body.
- Remove the 3 bolts in order to separate the front of the right rear lower control arm from the body.
- Place a jack under the differential support.
- Remove the 2 bolts (3, 4) and the 2 nuts (1, 2) in order to separate the rear suspension crossmember and the rear drive module from the body.
- Lower the rear drive module.
- Remove the stabilizer shaft links. Refer to «Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement (AWD)»(ref-200088-S38316920162005102000000) in Rear Suspension.
- Remove the stabilizer shaft. Refer to «Stabilizer Shaft Replacement (FWD)»(ref-200088-S16716731252005102000000) or «Stabilizer Shaft Replacement (AWD)»(ref-200088-S23655462882005102000000) in Rear Suspension.
- Remove the brake drums. Refer to «Brake Drum Replacement»(ref-200089-S36535592322005102000000) in Drum Brakes.
- Remove the brake shoes and the brake hardware. Refer to «Brake Shoe Replacement (FWD)»(ref-200089-S29537751832005102000000) or «Brake Shoe Replacement (AWD)»(ref-200089-S36352033322005102000000) in Drum Brakes.
- Remove the park brake cables. Refer to «Park Brake Cable Replacement - Left Rear»(ref-200086-S10300371032005102000000) and «Park Brake Cable Replacement - Right Rear»(ref-200086-S14893842782005102000000) in Park Brake.
- Remove the backing plates and the knuckles. Refer to «Knuckle Replacement (AWD)»(ref-200088-S27585367962005102000000) in Rear Suspension.
- Remove the rear wheel drive shafts. Refer to «Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement - Rear»(ref-200090-S27800649972005102000000) in Wheel Drive Shafts.
- Remove the upper control arms. Refer to «Upper Control Arm Replacement (AWD)»(ref-200088-S32898605772005102000000) in Rear Suspension.
- Remove the lower control arms. Refer to «Lower Control Arm Replacement (AWD)»(ref-200088-S23244395592005102000000) in Rear Suspension.
- Remove the differential carrier and the support. Refer to «Differential Carrier Assembly Replacement»(ref-200091-S04540685282005102000000) in Rear Drive Axle.
- If you are replacing a control arm, copy the match marks from the old components to the new components.
- Install the differential carrier and the support to the crossmember. Refer to «Differential Carrier Assembly Replacement»(ref-200091-S04540685282005102000000) in Rear Drive Axle.
- Install the nut (1) and the bolt (3) in order to retain the left rear lower control arm to the crossmember.
- Install the nut and the bolt in order to retain the right rear lower control arm to the crossmember.
- Align the match marks and install the cam and the cam bolt and the left rear upper control arm to the crossmember.
- Install the nut to the cam bolt on the left rear upper control arm.
- Align the match marks and install the cam and the cam bolt and the right rear upper control arm to the crossmember.
- Install the nut to the cam bolt on the right rear upper control arm.
- Install the rear wheel drive shafts. Refer to «Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement - Rear»(ref-200090-S27800649972005102000000) in Wheel Drive Shafts.
- Install backing plates and the knuckles. Refer to «Knuckle Replacement (AWD)»(ref-200088-S27585367962005102000000) in Rear Suspension.
- Install the left rear park brake cable to the backing plate. Refer to «Park Brake Cable Replacement - Left Rear»(ref-200086-S10300371032005102000000) in Park Brake.
- Install the right rear park brake cable to the backing plate. Refer to «Park Brake Cable Replacement - Right Rear»(ref-200086-S14893842782005102000000) in Park Brake.
- Install the brake shoes and the brake hardware. Refer to «Brake Shoe Replacement (FWD)»(ref-200089-S29537751832005102000000) or «Brake Shoe Replacement (AWD)»(ref-200089-S36352033322005102000000) in Drum Brakes.
- Install the brake drums. Refer to «Brake Drum Replacement»(ref-200089-S36535592322005102000000) in Drum Brakes.
- Install the stabilizer shaft. Refer to «Stabilizer Shaft Replacement (FWD)»(ref-200088-S16716731252005102000000) or «Stabilizer Shaft Replacement (AWD)»(ref-200088-S23655462882005102000000) in Rear Suspension.
- Install the stabilizer shaft links. Refer to «Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement (AWD)»(ref-200088-S38316920162005102000000) in Rear Suspension.
- Use a jack in order to raise the rear drive module.
- Install the 2 nuts (1, 2) and the 2 bolts (3, 4) in order to retain the crossmember and the rear drive module to the body. Tighten: Tighten the nuts and the bolts to 105 N.m (77.4 lb ft).
- Install the 3 bolts (1, 3, 4) in order to retain the front of the left rear lower control arm (2) to the body. Tighten: Tighten the bolts to 65 N.m (47.9 lb ft).
- Install the 3 bolts in order to retain the front of the right rear lower control arm to the body. Tighten: Tighten the bolts to 65 N.m (47.9 lb ft).
- Install the nut and the bolt in order to retain the left rear shock absorber to the lower control arm.
- Install the nut and the bolt in order to retain the right rear shock absorber to the lower control arm.
- Install the brake pipe to the left wheel cylinder. Tighten: Tighten the brake pipe fitting to 15 N.m (11.1 lb ft).
- Install the brake pipe to the right wheel cylinder. Tighten: Tighten the brake pipe fitting to 15 N.m (11.1 lb ft).
- If the vehicle has ABS, install the 2 rear wheel speed sensors and pigtails. Refer to «Wheel Speed Sensor Replacement - Rear (FWD)»(ref-200087-S19575871772005102000000) or «Wheel Speed Sensor Replacement - Rear (AWD)»(ref-200087-S38170734842005102000000) in Anti-Lock Brake System.
- Install the left rear park brake cable to the equalizer. Refer to «Park Brake Cable Replacement - Left Rear»(ref-200086-S10300371032005102000000) in Park Brake.
- Install the right rear park brake cable to the equalizer. Refer to «Park Brake Cable Replacement - Right Rear»(ref-200086-S14893842782005102000000) in Park Brake.
- Install the propeller shaft. Refer to «Propeller Shaft Replacement - Two Piece»(ref-200085-S26257744062005102000000) in Propeller Shaft.
- Install the catalytic converter. Refer to «Catalytic Converter Replacement (LV6 Engine)»(ref-200084-S23866561112005102000000) or «Catalytic Converter Replacement (LNK Engine)»(ref-200084-S26932355542005102000000) in Engine Exhaust.
- Install the 2 rear tire and wheel assemblies. Refer to «Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation»(ref-200080-S33140753802005102000000) in Tires and Wheels.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Bounce the rear of the vehicle in order to stabilize the suspension.
- Install the nut and the bolt that retains the left rear upper control arm to the knuckle. Tighten: Tighten the nut and the bolt to 74 N.m (54.6 lb ft).
- Install the nut and the bolt that retains the right rear upper control arm to the knuckle. Tighten: Tighten the nut and the bolt to 74 N.m (54.6 lb ft).
- Align the match marks and tighten the nut and the cam bolt that retains the left rear upper control arm to the crossmember. Tighten: Tighten the nut and the bolt to 74 N.m (54.6 lb ft).
- Align the match marks and tighten the nut and the cam bolt that retains the right rear upper control arm to the crossmember. Tighten: Tighten the nut and the bolt to 74 N.m (54.6 lb ft).
- Install the nut and the bolt (1) that retains the left rear lower control arm to the crossmember (2). Tighten: Tighten the nut and the bolt to 74 N.m (54.6 lb ft).
- Install the nut and the bolt that retains the right rear lower control arm to the crossmember. Tighten: Tighten the nut and the bolt to 74 N.m (54.6 lb ft).
- Install the nut and the bolt on that retains the left rear shock absorber to the lower control arm. Tighten: Tighten the nut and the bolt to 140 N.m (103.3 lb ft).
- Install the nut and the bolt on that retains the right rear shock absorber to the lower control arm. Tighten: Tighten the nut and the bolt to 140 N.m (103.3 lb ft).
- Align the match marks (1, 2) and install the nut (3) and the bolt that retains the rear of the left rear lower control arm to the knuckle. Tighten: Tighten the nut and the bolt to 74 N.m (54.6 lb ft).
- Align the match marks and install the nut and the bolt that retains the rear of the right rear lower control arm to the knuckle. Tighten: Tighten the nut and the bolt to 74 N.m (54.6 lb ft).
- Install the nut (1) and the bolt that retains the front of the left rear lower control arm to the knuckle. Tighten: Tighten the nut and the bolt to 74 N.m (54.6 lb ft).
- Install the nut and the bolt that retains the front of the right rear lower control arm to the knuckle. Tighten: Tighten the nut and the bolt to 74 N.m (54.6 lb ft).
- Bleed the brake system. Refer to «Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding»(ref-200092-S17760145562005102000000) in Hydraulic Brakes.
- Measure the wheel alignment. Adjust if necessary. Refer to «Measuring Wheel Alignment»(ref-200083-S06635018562005102000000) in Wheel Alignment.
