Programming and Setup - All Systems: Removal & Installation Pontiac Torrent I

Communication Interface Module Replacement

If the OnStar® communication interface module is replaced, the setup procedure needs to be performed. Please refer to OnStar Reconfiguration .

Radio Replacement

If the digital radio receiver is replaced, the following procedure must be performed

Perform the digital radio receiver setup. Refer to Digital Radio Receiver Setup .

EBCM Replacement

If the electronic brake control module (EBCM) is replaced, the following procedures must be performed

EBCM Reprogramming-Refer to Service Programming System (SPS) .

Setup for Component Replacement

The replacement of ABS components such as the steering wheel position sensor may require a setup procedure for complete repair. Refer to Steering Angle Sensor Centering

ECM Replacement

If the engine control module (ECM) is replaced, the following procedures must be performed

  1. ECM Reprogramming-Refer to «Service Programming System (SPS)»(ref-275033-S38300901262007122600000) .
  2. The CKP System Variation Learn - Refer to «Crankshaft Position System Variation Learn»(ref-275052-S42648232222007122600000) .
  3. Engine Oil Life Remaining-When available, use a scan tool to reset the Engine Oil Life Remaining back to the original percentage recorded before the module was replaced.
  4. Transmission Fluid Life Remaining-When available, use the scan tool to reset the Transmission Fluid Life Remaining back to the original percentage recorded before the module was replaced.
  5. Theft Deterrent - Refer to «Theft Deterrent Control Module Programming and Setup»(ref-275033-S35996311032007122600000) .

The replacement of some components will require a setup procedure for complete repair.

If any of the following components are replaced, the CKP Variation Learn Procedure must be performed. Refer to Crankshaft Position System Variation Learn .

  1. Engine replacement
  2. Any engine repair that disturbs the CKP sensor or its relationship with the crankshaft reluctor wheel
  3. CKP sensor

Heated Seat Control Module Replacement

If the heated seat module is replaced or if the module needs to be reprogrammed, refer to Service Programming System (SPS) .

HVAC Control Module Replacement

If the HVAC control module is replaced, the following procedure must be performed

Re-Calibrating Actuators-Refer to Actuators Recalibration .

Actuator Replacement

If an actuator is replaced, the following procedure must be performed

Re-Calibrating Actuator - Refer to Actuators Recalibration .

Power Steering Control Module (PSCM) Replacement & Setup

IMPORTANTThe power steering control module is serviced separately from the steering column assembly.

If the power steering control module (PSCM) is replaced, the following procedures must be performed in the following order

  1. PSCM reprogramming. Refer to «Service Programming System (SPS)»(ref-275033-S38300901262007122600000) .
  2. Steering Position/Torque Sensor Calibration.

If the radio is replaced, the new radio must have the setup procedure performed. Refer to Radio Setup .

CCM Replacement

If the rear differential clutch control module (CCM) is replaced, the following procedures must be performed

CCM Reprogramming-Refer to Rear Differential Clutch Control Module Calibration .

Transmission Control Module (TCM) Replacement

If the TCM is replaced, TCM Reprogramming must be performed. Refer to Service Programming System (SPS) .
