SERVICE ENGINE SOON WARNING LIGHT (IF EQUIPPED)
This warning light indicates a malfunction in the engine control system. When functioning correctly, the light comes on when ignition is turned on and goes out when engine is started.
If light fails to come on with ignition or remains on when running, a service need is indicated. A 2-digit or 3-digit trouble code will be stored into memory if a problem is detected. When trouble codes are repaired the light should return to normal function.
BRAKE SYSTEM WARNING LIGHT
With the ignition key in the ON position and the parking brake applied, the light should illuminate. Light should go off when the parking brake is released. If light remains lit after the parking brake has been released, the parking brake switch may be damaged or the brake fluid in the reservoir may be below the prescribed level. If fluid level is too low, have the system checked and serviced immediately. Prolonged driving under this condition is dangerous.
Vehicle is equipped with dual braking system, which provides back-up braking capability should a failure occur in either half of the dual system. Warning light will come on and remain on if there is failure to either half of the dual braking system.
ENGINE OIL PRESSURE LIGHT
Indicates a problem with engine oil pressure. Oil may not be going through engine quickly enough to keep it cool, or oil level is low. This light will illuminate when ignition is on and engine is not running, but should go out when engine is started. It may also blink on and off when engine is idling, or come on for a moment if driver makes a hard stop.
ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE LIGHT
Indicates that engine coolant has overheated and/or radiator fans are not working properly. Turn engine off as soon as possible when this light is illuminated.
ANTI-LOCK BRAKE WARNING LIGHTS (IF EQUIPPED)
The ANTI-LOCK BRAKE warning light monitors the readiness of the anti-lock feature. This light should come on when the car is started to indicate the system is working. If the light does not come on, the light should be fixed immediately.
The ABS ACTIVE light should come on when the anti-lock brake system is engaged during a brake application.
