This document is a supplement to the "Opel Navigation" brochure, KTA-1915, published in 02/97.
General Information
As of November 1998, the Opel navigation system is equipped with a new wiring harness, with alterations to the control unit voltage supply from the vehicle electrical system.
The previous, familiar voltage supply via fuse F500 (5 A) in the engine compartment relay body is superseded by a direct voltage connection in the fuse box (instrument panel), via fuse F22 (20 A) in the Vectra-B and F12 (20 A) in the Omega-B.
The type of voltage supply can be distinguished as follows:
- 5 A fuse and navigation fuse sticker in engine compartment relay box (previous)
- Sticker on lid of fuse box and note in Owner's Manual (new)
The following sections of this brochure contain all essential information for Service caused by the change to the voltage supply.
In addition, the following instructions for removal and installation have been included:
- Replacement of navigation control unit wiring harness (new and previous version with new version)
The "Opel Navigation System" brochure, KTA-1915, published 02/97, remains valid. For fuse "F500", read "F12" or "F22" if the fuse in question is for the new voltage supply version.
