Control Unit / Actuator
The control unit and the actuator device with stepper motor and safety clutch are located in a housing.
Stepper motor:
The stepper motor is actuated by the control unit in steps.
The actuation range extends from 0 to 230 steps.
| For each step, the gear output shaft is moved in a linear direction by 0.17 mm / 0.007 in., i. e. with an aperture of 230 steps, the output shaft and thus the connected Bowden cable is moved approx. 38 mm / 1.5 in. | |||

Safety clutch:
In case of a defect, the safety clutch ensures that the cruise control is mechanically decoupled.
At the same time, trouble code 55 is stored by the control unit.
The control unit / actuator is located on the right spring strut dome, below the coolant compensation tank.
