How to Remove and Install the Alternator Opel Corsa D

Remove

  1. 1. Open bonnet
  2. 2. Disconnect battery • Detach ground connection from ground terminal – Undo nut
  3. 3. Unhook ribbed V-belt
  4. 4. Release right tie rod (3) • Attach CH-47658 (1) in the correct position • Unscrew nut • Detach CH-47658 – Loosen on hexagon (2)

Note. Centre using spanner socket (5). Use suitable sleeve (4). Sleeve must lie flat on tie rod lever.

  1. 5. Push off tie rod ball joint right using KM-161-B (1) in conjunction with hook KM-161-2
  2. 6. Release steering knuckle • Remove bolted connection • Pull guide joint (2) from steering knuckle
  1. 7. Detach right drive shaft from intermediate shaft
  2. 8. Electrically isolate alternator • Electrically isolate alternator – Unscrew nut (1) – Disconnect wiring harness plug (2)
  3. 9. Remove alternator • Unscrew 2x bolts (3) and (4)

Install

  1. 10. Install alternator • Tighten 2x bolt 35 Nm
  2. 11. Attach wiring harness to alternator • Tighten 2x nuts
  3. 12. Attach right drive shaft to intermediate shaft
  4. 13. Attach guide joint • Tighten nut – Tightening torque 60 Nm

Note. Replace nuts and bolts

  1. 14. Attach tie rod ball joints • Tighten nut – Tightening torque 35 Nm

Note. Replace nuts

  1. 15. Insert ribbed V-belt
  2. 16. Connect battery • Attach ground connection to ground terminal – Tighten nut
  3. 17. Program volatile memories
  4. 18. Close bonnet
