Operation
The red protective transport sleeve (1) must be released from the mechanical part of the ignition key (2) and removed. Then the radio remote control (3) must be engaged in this position.
Note. Programming is not necessary. The red protective transport sleeve (1), manufactured from polyamide plastic (PA), must be disposed of as specified in statutory legislation. Parts cannot be attached to one another in an arbitrary fashion.
Radio Remote Control Combo-C, Corsa-D, Tigra-B, Meriva, Meriva-B, Astra-H, Astra-J, Insignia, Zafira-B and Antara
The radio remote control with folding key has a range of around 3 metres. This radio remote control with folding key contains the following functions:
- Folding key section
- Operation of the central locking
- Enable / disable the mechanical anti-theft device
- Enable / disable the content theft deterrent
- Operation of the electric window lifters
Folding Key Section
To fold the key section in or out, the button (1) must be pressed each time to unlock it. When folding it in again, care must be taken that the key section engages audibly.
Open & Start Key Astra-H, Astra-J, Insignia and Zafira-B
Open & Start is a keyless system for driver recognition and locking and unlocking the vehicle.
The Open & Start key is taken out of its protective case when the vehicle is delivered and engaged in the Open & Start transmitter. If possible, this should take place in the presence of the customer so that s/he knows how to lock and unlock the driver's door using the emergency key located in the electronic key in the event of failure of the Open & Start system.
Ex works 2 emergency keys and 2 Open & Start keys are enclosed with the Astra-H, Astra-J, Insignia and Zafira-B provided that the vehicle was ordered with the Open & Start option.
These keys are in the door compartment.
Removing the Emergency Key
The covering cap of the key element must be removed to obtain access to the emergency key if needed. To remove the covering cap of the emergency key, press the lock down (II, arrow) and simultaneously push the covering cap forwards. The emergency key itself is also secured to prevent it falling out. This safety device takes the form of an engaging lug on the key element housing and the narrow guide for the key element shaft. This means that a little force is needed to remove the emergency key as the emergency key has to be pushed over the engaging lug first. After this has been overcome, the emergency key is free and can be removed from the key element housing without difficulty.
When reinserting the emergency key, care should be taken that the emergency key is pushed right into the guide. Ensure that the covering cap is correctly seated when replacing it.
Radio Remote Control Tigra-B
The Tigra-B is provided with a radio remote control (optionally with folding key) which is integrated in the key. The radio remote control possesses the following functions:
- Central locking
- Mechanical anti-theft device
- Content theft deterrent.
In addition, the windows can be closed with the radio remote control.
The radio remote control has a range of approx. 3 metres. The range can change because of external influences.
