- Perform diagnostic system check. See «DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK»(ref-91547-S34777884642001040900000) under TROUBLE SHOOTING. After performing system check, go to next step.
- Connect scan tool. Turn ignition on. Place passenger-side temperature control switch in neutral position. Using scan tool, observe PASS. HVC SWITCH parameter in DRIVER DOOR MODULE data list. If scan tool indicates PASS. HVC SWITCH parameter is near 143 counts, inspect wiring and connectors for intermittent loose wires and/or poor connections. If scan tool indicates PASS. HVC SWITCH parameter is not near 143 counts, go to next step.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect passenger-side temperature control switch. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, observe PASS. HVAC SWITCH parameter. If scan tool indicates, PASS. HVAC SWITCH parameter is more than 250 counts, go to next step. If scan tool indicates, PASS. HVAC SWITCH parameter is 20 counts or less, go to step 5 .
- Turn ignition off. Connect a fused jumper wire between terminals No. 9 (Dark Blue wire) and No. 7 (Yellow wire) of right air temperature door actuator harness connector. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, observe PASS. HVAC SWITCH parameter. If switch parameter is 5 counts or less, check for loose wires and/or poor connections at passenger-side temperature control switch. If wiring and connectors are okay, replace passenger-side temperature control switch. See «PASSENGER-SIDE TEMPERATURE CONTROL PANEL»(ref-91547-S26592961822001042400000) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If switch parameter is more than 5 counts, go to step 6 .
- Check continuity between ground and terminal No. 9 (Dark Blue wire) of right air temperature door actuator harness connector. If continuity exists, repair short to ground in Dark Blue wire between air temperature door actuator and terminal A6 of Instrument Panel Module (IPM). If continuity does not exist, check for loose wires and/or poor connections to Front Passenger Door Module (FPDM).
- Check for voltage between ground and terminal No. 9 Dark Blue wire of right air temperature door actuator. If voltage exists, repair short to voltage in Dark Blue wire between right air temperature door actuator and terminal A6 of IPM. If voltage does not exist, go to next step.
- Check continuity in Dark Blue wire between terminal No. 9 Dark Blue wire of right air temperature door actuator and terminal A6 of IPM. If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, repair open or high resistance in Dark Blue wire.
- Check continuity in Yellow wire between terminal No. 7 of right air temperature door actuator and terminal A7 of IPM. If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, repair open or high resistance in Yellow wire.
