Harness or connectors

(CAN communication line is open or shorted.)

  1. Turn ignition switch ON.
  2. Select "DATA MONITOR" mode for "TRANSMISSION" with CONSULT-III.
  3. Start engine and wait for at least 6 seconds.
  4. If DTC is detected, go to " «DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE»(ref-367317-S28874129502010072700000) ".

Follow the procedure "WITH CONSULT-III".

  1. CHECK TRANSMISSION RANGE SW SIGNALS With CONSULT-III Turn ignition switch ON. Select "ECU INPUT SIGNALS" in "DATA MONITOR" mode for "TRANSMISSION" with CONSULT-III. Read out "P", "R", "N", "D" and "L" position switches moving selector lever to each position.   3. CHECK CONTROL CABLE ADJUSTMENT Check transmission range switch again with control cable disconnected from manual shaft of A/T assembly. Refer to test group 2 . OK or NG OK: Adjust control cable. NG: Check transmission range switch (Refer to test group 1 ) again after adjusting transmission range switch (Refer to " «TRANSMISSION RANGE SWITCH»(ref-367317-S17473672232010072700000) "). If OK, INSPECTION END If NG, repair or replace transmission range switch. Refer to " «TRANSMISSION RANGE SWITCH»(ref-367317-S17473672232010072700000) ".
  4. DETECT MALFUNCTIONING ITEM Check the following items. Harness for short or open between ignition switch and transmission range switch. Harness for short or open between transmission range switch and TCM. 10A fuse [No. 14, located in the fuse block (J/B)]. Ignition switch. Refer to «POWER SUPPLY ROUTING CIRCUIT»(ref-367304-S39439066852010072700000) . OK or NG OK: GO TO 5. NG: Repair or replace damaged parts.
  5. CHECK DTC Perform " «DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE»(ref-367317-S42475756372010072700000) ". OK or NG OK: INSPECTION END NG: GO TO 6.
  6. CHECK TCM Check TCM input/output signals. Refer to " «TCM INPUT/OUTPUT SIGNAL REFERENCE VALUE»(ref-367317-S09329992642010072700000) ". If NG, re-check TCM pin terminals for damage or loose connection with harness connector. OK or NG OK: INSPECTION END NG: Repair or replace damaged parts. Replace the transaxle assembly.   4. If NG on step 2 , remove transmission range switch from CVT and check continuity of transmission range switch terminals. Refer to step 1 .
  5. If OK on step 4 , adjust transmission range switch. Refer to " «ADJUSTMENT OF TRANSMISSION RANGE SWITCH»(ref-367317-S09939849842010072700000) ".
  6. If NG on step 4 , replace transmission range switch. Refer to " «TRANSMISSION RANGE SWITCH»(ref-367317-S17473672232010072700000) ".
