FLUSHING COOLING SYSTEM
- Fill the radiator from the filler neck above the radiator upper hose and reservoir tank with clean water and reinstall radiator filler cap.
- Run the engine and warm it up to normal operating temperature.
- Rev the engine two or three times under no-load.
- Stop the engine and wait until it cools down.
- Drain the water from the system. Refer to , " «DRAINING ENGINE COOLANT»(ref-239944-S37417993932006080300000) ".
- Repeat steps 1 through 5 until clear water begins to drain from the radiator.

| WARNING | Never remove the radiator cap when the engine is hot. Serious burns could occur from high pressure coolant escaping from the radiator. |
Scheme 25
- Drain the coolant from the radiator. Refer to , " «CHANGING ENGINE COOLANT»(ref-239944-S24399931942006080400000) ". CAUTION: Perform when engine is cold.
- Partially drain the A/T fluid. Refer to , " «CHANGING A/T FLUID»(ref-239943-S20459687922006080300000) ".
- Remove fresh air duct. Refer to , " «REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-239942-S12459786952006080400000) ".
- Disconnect radiator upper and lower hoses.
- Disconnect the A/T fluid cooler hoses. NOTE: Plug hoses to avoid leakage of A/T fluid.
- Disconnect the engine coolant reservoir tank hose.
- Remove the radiator upper clips by pulling the tabs outside to release the lock, as shown. CAUTION: To prevent damage, do not pull lock tabs excessively.
- Disconnect fan electrical connectors.
- Remove the radiator fan assembly. CAUTION: Do not damage or scratch A/C condenser and radiator core when removing.
- If necessary, remove the radiator fan assembly from the radiator. Refer to , " «DISASSEMBLY AND ASSEMBLY OF RADIATOR FAN»(ref-239944-S00520464642006080400000) ".
- If necessary, remove the mounting rubber from the radiator.

- Apply pressure using Tool. Tool number : EG17650301 (J-33984-A) WARNING: To prevent the risk of the hose coming undone while under pressure, securely fasten it down with a hose clamp. CAUTION: Attach a hose to the A/T fluid cooler as well.
- Place radiator in water filled tank and check for leakage.
