DESCRIPTION & OPERATION

Autolamp sensor (photo diode), located on top of dashboard, senses intensity of ambient light. (Scheme 1) Autolamp switch is integrated with headlight switch. When autolamp switch is activated, the system automatically turns on low-beam headlights if autolamp sensor detects insufficient light. When enough light is detected, the system automatically turns off low-beam headlights.

Autolamp system incorporates a shut-off delay feature. After ignition is turned off, with headlight switch in AUTO1 position, headlights will remain on for less than one minute. Headlights will remain on for up to 3 minutes if headlight switch is in AUTO2 position.
