Removal
- Remove cylinder head. See «CYLINDER HEAD»(ref-49048-S14848410242001011500000) . Remove rocker arm shaft assembly. See «ROCKER ARM SHAFT ASSEMBLY»(ref-49048-S10386050622001011500000) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
- Secure hydraulic valve lifters in lifter guide with wire to prevent lifters from falling. Remove lifter guide and lifters as an assembly. If lifters are removed from lifter guide, mark them for installation into original bore. Remove end plate from rear end of cylinder head. Measure and record camshaft end play. Remove camshaft.
Installation
Carefully install camshaft. Install camshaft locating plate. Install end plate at rear end of cylinder head. Install lifters and rocker arm assemblies. Install camshaft sprocket marked R3 to right camshaft. Install camshaft sprocket marked L3 to left camshaft. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure.
