Removal
- Drain coolant from radiator and engine block. (Scheme 15) Remove fan belts and crankshaft pulley.
- Remove upper and lower timing belt covers to access water pump retaining bolts. see scheme 10 Remove 6 water pump bolts and remove water pump from vehicle. (Scheme 16)

Installation
To install, reverse removal procedure. Apply a continuous bead of liquid gasket Sealant (KP610-00250), to mating surface of water pump. Tighten all fasteners to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .

- Raise and support vehicle. Drain engine oil. Remove covers from below engine. Disconnect exhaust pipe from exhaust manifolds. Position a jack under crankshaft pulley to support engine. Remove engine mount-to-crossmember bolts. Remove crossmember.
- Remove oil pan bolts. Separate oil pan from cylinder block by driving Seal Cutter (KV10111100) between pan and block. DO NOT pry pan away from block with a screwdriver; pan or block gasket surface may be damaged.
Apply liquid gasket sealer to pan surface (in groove, but inward of bolt holes), rear oil seal retainer gasket and front cover. To install, reverse removal procedure. (Scheme 17) Tighten oil pan bolts in sequence to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS.
