Installation

To install, reverse removal procedure. Replace rubber engine mounts if deteriorated. Fill cooling system and crankcase.

  1. Release fuel system pressure. See «FUEL PRESSURE RELEASE»(ref-49048-S06862619232001011500000) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Allow engine to cool to room temperature. Disconnect battery. Drain cooling system. Disconnect and label vacuum and coolant lines attached to intake manifold. Disconnect throttle linkage.
  2. Remove intake manifold collector. Remove intake manifold using correct removal sequence. (Scheme 6) If necessary, remove fuel injectors and fuel rails as an assembly. Remove intake manifold.

Using NEW gaskets, install the intake manifold assembly. (Scheme 6) Tighten bolts to specification in reverse order of removal sequence. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure.
