OXYGEN SENSOR (O2S) WARNING LIGHT RESET INDEX

- On models equipped with an O2S warning light, light will come on at 30,000 miles as a reminder to inspect oxygen sensor. Replace sensor if necessary.
- After sensor is inspected and/or replaced, warning light must be reset or disabled. Some 1985-87 Nissan models use a reset relay. See «OXYGEN SENSOR LIGHT RELAY LOCATIONS»(ref-161568-S23612650842004041600000) for model application and relay location. To reset relay, go to step 3. For models not using a relay, go to step 5. - Locate and remove relay. See «OXYGEN SENSOR LIGHT RELAY LOCATIONS»(ref-161568-S23612650842004041600000). To reset relay, push reset button on relay or remove tape over reset hole and insert a small screwdriver into reset hole. (Scheme 17) Push lightly to reset.
- Reset relay at 30,000 and 60,000 miles. At 90,000 miles, locate and disconnect warning light wire connector. See «OXYGEN SENSOR LIGHT CONNECTOR LOCATIONS»(ref-161568-S04004580022004041600000) table.
- On 1985-86 Federal Pickups, disconnect Yellow/White harness at 50,000 miles and Yellow/Black harness at 100,000 miles. On 1985-86 Calif. Pickups, disconnect Yellow wire harness at 90,000 miles. Harnesses are located above hood release cable.
- On other models without oxygen sensor warning light relays, see «OXYGEN SENSOR LIGHT CONNECTOR LOCATIONS»(ref-161568-S04004580022004041600000) to locate the warning light harness connector. Unplug connector, and leave it disconnected. The reminder light will no longer function. (Scheme 18)

TPMS RESET INDEX
ID Registration With Transmitter Activation Tool
- With the ignition switch in OFF position, connect CONSULT scan tool to the Data Link Connector (DLC). Turn ignition switch to ON position.
- Select "START (NISSAN BASED VHCL)".
- Touch "BCM" on "SELECT SYSTEM" screen.
- Select "AIR PRESSURE MONITOR" on "SELECT WORK ITEM" screen.
- Select "WORK SUPPORT" on "SELECT DIAG MODE" screen, and select "ID REGIST". Select "START".
- With the transmitter activation tool (J-45295) pushed against the front left transmitter position of the tire air valve, press the button for 5 seconds. see scheme 20
- Register the IDs in the specified order. See «ID Registration Order Specifications»(ref-161568-S29605071712007070200000) table. When ID registration of each wheel has been completed, a buzzer sounds as indicated, the hazard warning lights or turn signal indicators flash twice, and the indictor light on the Activation Tool goes from red to green. NOTE: For 2008 and later Titan and 2009 and later Maxima, the buzzer is eliminated. NOTE: Be sure to register the IDs in the specified order, or the self-diagnostic results display will not function properly. - After completing all ID registrations, press "END" to complete the procedure.
ID Registration Without Transmitter Activation Tool
- With the ignition switch in OFF position, connect CONSULT scan tool to the Data Link Connector (DLC). Turn ignition switch to ON position.
- Select "START (NISSAN BASED VHCL)".
- Touch "BCM" on "SELECT SYSTEM" screen.
- Select "AIR PRESSURE MONITOR" on "SELECT WORK ITEM" screen.
- Select "WORK SUPPORT" on "SELECT DIAG MODE" screen, and select "ID REGIST". Select "START".
- Adjust the tire pressure to the values specified under the appropriate "Sensor ID Registration Tire Pressure Specifications" table below, and drive the vehicle at 25 mph (40 km/h) or more for a few minutes. 350Z (2004), Frontier, Xterra (2003-04) - See table "A". - Inflate all tires to specification.
- With the ignition switch in OFF position, connect CONSULT scan tool to the Data Link Connector (DLC). Turn ignition switch to ON position.

- Select "AIR PRESSURE MONITOR" on "SELECT WORK ITEM" screen.
- Select "WORK SUPPORT" on "SELECT DIAG MODE" screen, and select "ID REGIST". Select "START".
- With the Transmitter Activation Tool (J-45295) pushed against the front left transmitter tire air valve, press the button for 5 seconds.
- Register the IDs in the specified order: left front, right front, right rear, left rear NOTE: Note: Be sure to register the sensor IDs in the specified order, or the self-diagnostic results display will not function properly.
- As each sensor ID is registered, the turn signal lights flash twice and the scan tool indicator light changes from red to green. On some models, a buzzer or chime may sound.
- After completing all ID registrations, press "END" to complete the procedure.

- Decrease air pressure for at least 30 seconds continuously for each tire (more than 10 psi (34.5 kPa) within 30 seconds) to place the TPM system into relearn mode for 30 minutes.
- Adjust the tire pressure for all wheels as indicated in the «Sensor ID Registration Tire Pressure Specifications»(ref-161568-S31195992222012082700000) table. - Start the Registration procedure using the INFO knob as follows: SETTINGS ->RESET TPMS ->RELEARN ->RESETTING. The TPMS warning lamp flashes continuously when the system is relearning the tire positions. see scheme 21 NOTE: If the Registration procedure is stopped before completion, the new tire positions are not learned. Perform the complete relearn procedure again to reset the tire positions.
- When the Registration procedure is successfully completed the TPMS warning lamp illuminates for 3 seconds and a chime sounds 3 times.
- Adjust the tire pressures to the cold tire pressure specification. If the tire pressures are correct, the TPMS warning lamp turns OFF.
Note. If the Registration procedure does not work, check the following and retry the procedure: If the relearn procedure is stopped before completion, the new tire positions are not learned. Perform the complete relearn procedure again to reset the tire positions. You must select: RESET TPMS, RELEARN from the SETTINGS menu to complete the relearn procedure. Perform the complete relearn procedure to reset the tire positions. Select the TPMS resetting menu, then continue the remaining registration procedure. Adjust the tire pressures to the relearn pressures before selecting the TPMS resetting menu on the display. Perform the complete relearn procedure to reset the tire positions. If the tire pressure cannot be reduced at least 10 psi (34.5 kPa) to adjust them to the relearn pressures, inflate the tires to at least 10 psi (34.5 kPa) above the specified pressures. Perform the complete relearn procedure starting with step 1. Devices which emit electronic interference should be turned OFF before starting the relearn procedure. The interference may prevent the system from learning the new tire positions. Turn OFF or remove sources of electrical interference. If necessary, move the vehicle to another location, then perform the complete relearn procedure to reset the tire positions. Use an air pump that is capable of inflating the tires to the required pressure specifications. The air pump must be capable of inflating a tire at least 10 psi (34.5 kPa) in 30 seconds. If the reset TPMS function is unintentionally selected, place the ignition switch in the OFF position, then to the ON position to end the relearn procedure. If the vehicle is not recognizing the new tire pressure levels, move the vehicle forward 40 inches (1 meter). Place the ignition switch in the OFF position, then to the ON position. Perform the relearn procedure beginning at step 1. Make sure that the tire pressures are increased or decreased at least 10 psi (34.5 kPa). If tire pressure is not set to the correct pressure, perform the procedure again.
