Note. To determine the appropriate reset procedure, refer to MAINTENANCE REMINDER DISPLAY RESET INDEX . Only vehicles listed in this index have a Maintenance Reminder Display reset.

MAINTENANCE REMINDER DISPLAY RESET INDEX

MAINTENANCE REMINDER DISPLAY RESET - PROCEDURE 1

Note. This procedure is for the Monochrome Control Panel Display. The actual layout of the control panel may appear different for different vehicles, but the key functions are similar.

1. Pushing MAINT button will change the maintenance menu as follows: Engine Oil > Tire Rotation > Tire Pressure (if equipped). (Scheme 1)or (Scheme 2).
2. Select the ENGINE OIL screen. To reset the maintenance reminder, push the MAINT or TRIP RESET button for at least 1.5 seconds. To adjust the distance until next reminder, push the CONTROLLER ARROWS (joystick) to left or right. NOTE: When the vehicle is driven the set distance, the MAINTENANCE NOTICE screen will be automatically displayed and the Maintenance menu ("ENGINE OIL", "TIRE ROTATION and "TIRE PRESSURE" (if so equipped) will blink.
3. To return to the previous display after the MAINTENANCE NOTICE screen is displayed, press the PREV button.

MAINTENANCE REMINDER DISPLAY RESET - PROCEDURE 2

The Control Panel Display Screen is controlled using the INFO (or TRIP) button to initiate the display screen, and the NISSAN Controller to navigate the menus. Highlight an item on the display using the main directional buttons (ARROWS) or turning the CENTER DIAL. Press the ENTER button to select an item or perform the action. Using the BACK button can either cancel an action, return to the previous screen, or accept changes to some actions.

1. Push the INFO button on the control panel, and select the MAINTENANCE menu using the NISSAN controller. NOTE: On some 2010 and older models, there is no INFO button - the button will be marked either TRIP INFO, or just TRIP. Use the button repeatedly to access the maintenance menu, and THEN use the NISSAN controller after that to reset/adjust.
2. Select one of the maintenance items to reset.
3. Reset reminder or change milage interval: Select DISTANCE to reset the automatic reminder to back to 0 mi (km). Select INTERVAL (on some older models SCHEDULE) to change the maintenance interval (miles until reminder is displayed). Use the "+" or "-" buttons, or turn the CENTER DIAL to adjust number of miles.
4. To accept the changes, press the BACK button. Use the BACK again to return to a previous menu.

Maintenance intervals shown in the Vehicle Information Display (center of the instrument cluster) are reset using the Trip Computer switches. (Scheme 3), (Scheme 4), or (Scheme 5). When the ignition switch is pushed to the ON position, modes of the trip computer can be selected by pushing the (A) switch. Each time the switch (A) switch is pushed, the display will change modes. Use mode "Setting" for this procedure. (Scheme 7)

Note. The "Setting" mode cannot be accessed while driving. A message "Setting can only be operated when stopped" is also displayed on the vehicle information display.

The (A) and (B) switch are used in the "Setting" mode to select and decide a menu.

Use switch (B) to select the MAINTENANCE menu. Use switch (A) to activate the MAINTENANCE item. The maintenance intervals of the following items can be set or reset for the reminders

1. Oil: Select this menu to adjust the distance until next engine oil change, or reset the automatic reminder.
2. Filter: Select this menu to adjust the distance until next oil filter replacement, or reset the automatic reminder.
3. Tire: Select this menu to adjust the distance until tires need replacing, or reset the automatic reminder.
4. Other: Select this menu to adjust or reset items other than the engine oil, oil filter and tires.

To return to the top page of the "Setting" mode, select BACK.

Press the vehicle information display INFO knob (Scheme 6), located on the instrument panel (lower right of the speedometer) to toggle through the following menus

MPG > MPG/MPH > Time/Miles > Range > Setting > Warning

Rotate the INFO knob to highlight the desired menu option within the selected mode. Press the knob to enter the highlighted menu. The icons at the bottom of the display screen show the actions available.

For Maintenance Reminder adjustments, use the Setting > Maintenance menu. In the setting menu, rotate the INFO knob to move to MAINTENANCE and press the knob to select the menu. See SETTING MODE in (Scheme 7).

1. Reset Mode: Reset mode can be selected in any screen that allows for preferences to be programmed. Once the screen is selected, you have the option to reset their selected distances or time to a new setting. See RESET MODE in (Scheme 7).
2. Maintenance Mode: Maintenance mode allows you to set reminders of maintenance intervals for the following: Engine Oil, Oil Filter, Tires, Other. See MAINTENANCE MODE in (Scheme 7).

Maintenance intervals shown in the Vehicle Information Display (center of the instrument cluster) are reset using the Trip Computer switch. (Scheme 8) When the ignition switch is ON, modes of the trip computer can be selected by pushing the (A) button briefly. Each time the button is pushed, the display will change modes. Press and hold to select. Use mode SETTINGS (6) for maintenance reminder adjustment or reset. (Scheme 9)

Note. The SETTINGS mode cannot be accessed while driving.

Select MAINTENANCE from the SETTINGS menu. Press the (A) button briefly to highlight a menu item. Press and hold to select or reset. The maintenance intervals of the following items can be adjusted or reset for the reminders

1. Service: Select this menu to adjust the distance until next engine oil change, or reset the automatic reminder.
2. Tire: Select this menu to adjust the distance until tires need replacing, or reset the automatic reminder.
3. Other: Select this menu to adjust or reset items other than the engine oil, oil filter and tires. Other maintenance items can include such things as air filter or tire rotation.

To return to the top page of the SETTINGs menu, select BACK.

When the ignition switch is ON, rotate the knob to display the following menus: Range > Avg MPG > Avg MPH > Time > Tire Pressures > Settings > Warnings. The SETTINGS menu allows you to select the MAINTENANCE menu where you can adjust the distance until next engine oil and filter change, or reset the automatic reminder. (Scheme 11)

Maintenance intervals shown in the Vehicle Information Display (center of the instrument cluster) are reset using the Trip Computer switches. (Scheme 12) The maintenance mode allows you to set alerts for the reminding of maintenance intervals. To change an item

1. Press the MENU (3) button. (Scheme 12)
2. Use the ARROW (1) buttons until SETTINGS is selected, and press ENTER (1).
3. Select MAINTENANCE using the ARROW (1) buttons and press ENTER (1).
4. Adjust or reset the items listed below.

1. Oil and Filter: Select this menu to adjust the distance until next engine oil and filter change, or reset the automatic reminder.
2. Tire: Select this menu to adjust the distance until tires need replacing, or reset the automatic reminder.
3. Other: Select this menu to adjust or reset items other than the engine oil, oil filter and tires. Other maintenance items can include such things as air filter or tire rotation.

To return to previous menu, use BACK button (2).

The Control Panel Display Screen is controlled using the INFO button to initiate the INFORMATION menu, and the DIAL CONTROLLER to navigate the menus. Highlight an item on the display by turning the DIAL CONTROLLER. Press the dial (ENTER) to select an item or perform the action. Using the BACK button can either return to the previous screen, or apply changes to some settings.

1. Push the INFO button on the control panel, and select the MAINTENANCE menu using the DIAL CONTROLLER.
2. Select one of the MAINTENANCE items to reset.
3. Reset reminder or change milage interval: Select DISTANCE to reset the automatic reminder to back to 0 mi (km). Push ENTER. Select INTERVAL to change the maintenance interval (miles until reminder is displayed). Turn the DIAL CONTROLLER to adjust number of miles. Push ENTER to set. Select INTERVAL REMINDER to turn ON the reminder, if it is not already ON. Push ENTER.
4. Use the BACK to return to a previous menu.

Maintenance intervals shown in the Vehicle Information Display (inside tachometer, lower right) are reset using the Drive Computer buttons. (Scheme 13)

1. With the ignition switch in the ON position, push the ENTER button (1) repeatedly until the SETTING menu is displayed. (Scheme 13)
2. Use the NEXT button (2) to select MAINTENANCE menu, then confirm with the ENTER (1) button. Select item to adjust or reset: OIL > ENGINE OIL FILTER OIL > T/M OIL (Transmission Fluid) TIRE
3. Input the maintenance reminder adjustments by doing the following: To reset the automatic reminder mileage to zero, go to the RESET menu, then push the NEXT button and confirm with the ENTER button. To adjust the mileage until next reminder, on each setting menu, push the NEXT button. Push and hold the button to increase the number every 600 miles (1,000 km). To change to No Reminders, set to "-".
4. To return to the initial SETTING menu, press and hold the ENTER button for at least 1 second.

MAINTENANCE REMINDER DISPLAY RESET - PROCEDURE 10

Use the Trip Computer to access the Settings > Maintenance menu. There are 5 submenus under the Maintenance menu.

1. Back: Select this submenu to return to the top page of the settings mode
2. Tire: Select this submenu to set or reset the distance for replacement of the tires. This indicator appears when the customer set distance comes for replacing tires. You can set or reset the distance for replacing tires.
3. Other -1, -2 and -3: Select this submenu to set or reset the distance for replaceable/maintenance items. Up to three other items can be monitored. Set other items if required. These indicators appears when the customer set distance comes for checking or replacing maintenance items other than the tires. Other maintenance items can include such things as the tire rotation. You can set or reset the distance for checking or replacing the items.

Service Interval Reminder Reset (if equipped)

Quickly push and release the trip computer change button (A - (Scheme 16)) on the instrument panel located near the speedometer during the "Oil Good" or "Oil Lo" mode to display an approximate oil level indication.

Adjust the interval distance to oil change by pushing the trip computer change button (A) for 3 seconds while the wrench symbol and distance to oil change are displayed. The symbol and distance display will start flashing and the display shows the current interval. Push the switch to increase the interval distance. Each step increases the interval distance by 500 mi (1,000 km). The interval distance can be set up to 18,000 mi (30,000 km) after which the display returns to zero.

If no further action is made, the display returns to oil display status indication and the new interval is set. If the interval distance is set to 0, the display will skip the distance to oil change information and wrench symbol display mode and will directly display the oil display status ("Oil Good" or "Oil Lo"). In order to return to the distance to oil change information and wrench symbol display mode, push the trip computer change button for approximately 3 seconds after the ignition switch has been turned to the ON position, and adjust the distance to oil change schedule as previously described.

TPMS RESET - PROCEDURE 1

The low tire pressure warning light does not automatically turn off when the tire pressure is adjusted. After the tire is inflated to the recommended pressure, the vehicle must be driven at speeds above 25 mph (40 km/h) to activate the TPMS and turn off the low tire pressure warning light.

Note. When a spare tire is mounted, or a wheel, tire pressure sensor, or BCM is replaced, the tire pressure sensors must be registered. See appropriate method below.

Note. To register a new tire pressure sensor, a CONSULT scan tool can be used. A Nissan Signal Tech II scan tool or the Transmitter Activation Tool (J-45295) are used in wake-up procedure and can aid in registration procedure if using the CONSULT tool system. Sensor registration and wake-up methods in this procedure reference CONSULT type scan tool procedures.

Note. If a CONSULT-II is used without also using the CONSULT-II CONVERTER, a malfunction might be detected during self-diagnosis, depending on which control unit carries-out CAN communication.

Note. The Signal Tech II Tool (J-50190) can be used to perform the all transmitter ID registration functions: See TPMS Reset - Procedure 4 .

Note. If tire pressure sensor was replaced, the new sensor will be in an "asleep" mode. To wake up sensor, see Transmitter Wake-Up Operation .

Note. For sensor registration, see appropriate procedure.

TPMS RESET - PROCEDURE 2

Note. The low tire pressure warning light does not automatically turn off when the tire pressure is adjusted. After the tire is inflated to the recommended pressure, the vehicle must be driven at speeds above 25 mph (40 km/h) to activate the TPMS and turn off the low tire pressure warning light.

Note. This procedure must be done after replacing wheels, rotating wheels (on vehicles without individual tire pressure display), replacing tire pressure sensor or BCM. See appropriate method below.

Note. To register a new tire pressure sensor, a CONSULT scan tool can be used. A Nissan Signal Tech II scan tool or the Transmitter Activation Tool (J-45295) are used in wake-up procedure and can aid in registration procedure if using the CONSULT tool system. Sensor registration and wake-up methods in this procedure reference CONSULT type scan tool procedures.

Note. If a CONSULT-II is used without also using the CONSULT-II CONVERTER, a malfunction might be detected during self-diagnosis, depending on which control unit carries-out CAN communication.

TPMS RESET - PROCEDURE 4

Note. The low tire pressure warning light does not automatically turn off when the tire pressure is adjusted. After the tire is inflated to the recommended pressure, the vehicle must be driven at speeds above 25 mph (40 km/h) to activate the TPMS and turn off the low tire pressure warning light.

Note. This procedure must be performed after replacement of a tire pressure sensor (transmitter), BCM, or rotation of the wheels (on vehicles without individual tire pressure display).

Note. This procedure assumes the use of the Signal Tech II Tool (J-50190), which can be used to perform the following functions: Activate and display TPMS transmitters Display tire pressure reported by the TPMS transmitter Read TPMS DTCs Register TPMS transmitter IDs

1. Set all tire pressures to recommended pressure.
2. Turn on Signal Tech II scan tool and select "TPMS Check" from the main menu.
3. Select vehicle model and year.
4. When prompted, hold the scan tool against the side of the left front tire, near the valve stem.
5. With the tool held at a 0 to 15 degree angle to the tire, press and release the "OK" button to activate the sensor. Once the sensor is activated. the tool will display the tire pressure.
6. Repeat procedure for the right front, right rear and left rear wheels, in that order.
7. When prompted, connect the scan tool to the data link connector. The tool will connect to the BCM, read the VIN, read sensor IDs and check for TPMS DTCs. Along with and DTCs detected, one of the following will be displayed next to each wheel: N/A - Not applicable because no ID found by the tool OK - Wheel and sensor are in original position NEW - New ID found compared to BCM RT - Wheel has been rotated Low Press - Low tire pressure
8. If no DTC is present or the repair has been completed, press the "OK" button to register the IDs and clear DTCs.
9. Test drive the car to ensure that the TPMS light goes out and no warning messages are present.
