Engine Cooling System: Removal & Installation Nissan Murano Z50

INSTALLATION

Note the following, and install in the reverse order of removal.

REMOVAL

  1. Drain engine coolant from radiator. Refer to «CHANGING ENGINE COOLANT»(ref-233995-S01322841342006052700000) . CAUTION: Perform this step when the engine is cold. Do not spill engine coolant on drive belts.
  2. Remove air duct (inlet) and radiator cover grills (right and left sides). Refer to «AIR CLEANER AND AIR DUCT»(ref-233993-S13601402462006052800000) .
  3. Disconnect radiator hose (upper) at radiator side. Refer to «RADIATOR»(ref-233995-S41746158612006052700000) .
  4. Disconnect harness connector from fan motors, and move harness to aside.
  5. Remove battery and battery tray, and move fuse and fusible link block to aside. Refer to «BATTERY»(ref-234023-S11698902302006052700000) .
  6. Remove mounting bolts to lift up and remove radiator cooling fan assembly. CAUTION: Be careful not to damage or scratch on radiator core.

Install in the reverse order of removal.

Note the following, and install in the reverse order of removal.

  1. Be careful not to spill engine coolant over engine room. Use rag to absorb engine coolant.
  1. Remove engine cover. Refer to «INTAKE MANIFOLD COLLECTOR»(ref-233993-S36113184132006052800000) .
  2. Drain engine coolant from radiator drain plug at the bottom of radiator, and from water drain plug at the front of cylinder block. Refer to «CHANGING ENGINE COOLANT»(ref-233995-S01322841342006052700000) and «WATER PUMP»(ref-233995-S33089933962006052700000) . CAUTION: Perform this step when the engine is cold. Do not spill engine coolant on drive belts.
  3. Remove air duct (inlet), radiator cover grills (right and left sides), air cleaner case (upper) with mass air flow sensor and air duct assembly. Refer to «AIR CLEANER AND AIR DUCT»(ref-233993-S13601402462006052800000) .
  4. Remove battery and battery tray. Refer to «REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-234023-S25925822202006052700000) .
  5. Remove CVT fluid cooler control valve assembly. Refer to «TRANSAXLE ASSEMBLY»(ref-234000-S38984770662006052700000) .
  6. Move CVT control cable aside. Refer to «SHIFT CONTROL SYSTEM»(ref-234000-S23038561412006052700000) .
  7. Remove radiator hose (upper).
  8. Remove water hoses and heater hoses.
  9. Disconnect harness connectors, and move harness to aside.
  10. Remove engine coolant temperature sensor as necessary. CAUTION: Be careful not to damage engine coolant temperature sensor.
  11. Remove water outlet, heater pipe, water bypass pipe and water connector.

Note the following, and install in the reverse order of removal.

  1. Securely insert each hose, and install clamp at a position where it does not interfere with the pipe bulge.
  2. When inserting water bypass pipe and heater pipe into water connector, apply neutral detergent to O-ring.
