Engine Lubrication System: Removal & Installation Nissan Maxima A35

REMOVAL

  1. Remove the engine from the vehicle. Refer to " «REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-388044-S31213686922011022800000) ".
  2. Remove the upper oil pan. Refer to " «REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION (UPPER OIL PAN)»(ref-388044-S20358380952011022800000) ".
  3. Remove the timing chain. Refer to " «REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-388044-S33483831572011022800000) ".
  4. Remove oil pump assembly.

INSTALLATION

Installation is in the reverse order of removal.

CAUTIONBefore assembly, apply new engine oil to the parts as shown in the figure.
  1. Remove the engine under cover.
  2. Remove the RH wheel and tire. Refer to " «ADJUSTMENT»(ref-388047-S32116336402011022800000) ".
  3. Remove the engine side under cover.
  4. Drain engine coolant. Refer to " «CHANGING ENGINE COOLANT»(ref-388046-S32332017542011022800000) ". Do not spill coolant on the drive belt.
  5. Disconnect water hoses from oil cooler. NOTE: Cap or plug opening(s) to prevent fluid from spilling.
  6. Remove the oil filter. Refer to " «REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-388050-S16925248172011022800000) ".
  7. Remove oil cooler.

Installation is in the reverse order of removal.

CAUTIONWhen installing the oil cooler, align the oil cooler stopper with the stopper of the oil pan.
