Removal and Installation

CAUTIONWrap the tip of a suitable tool with a cloth when removing metal clips from garnishes. When removing or installing body side welts, do not allow butyl seal to come in contact with pillar finishers.

REMOVAL

  1. Remove the halo upper frame assembly for bench seat or seat back for bucket seat. Refer to " «REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-388069-S28432622822011022800000) " for bench seat (w/o climate controlled seats), or " «REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-388069-S22655739822011022800000) " for bucket seat (w/o climate controlled seats), or " «REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-388069-S26904698082011022800000) " for bucket seat (with climate controlled seats).
  2. Remove high mounted stop lamp (if equipped). Refer to " «REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-388067-S22210370352011022800000) ".
  3. Remove rear pillar finishers (RH/LH). Refer to " «REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-388080-S40512752692011022800000) ".
  4. Thread the rear seat belts (RH/LH/center) through vertical opening and release from rear parcel shelf finisher.
  5. Release the clips, then remove rear parcel shelf finisher.

INSTALLATION

Installation is in the reverse order of removal.

CAUTIONMake sure that clips are fully aligned with panel holes on body when installing, then press them in completely.

  1. Remove the rear parcel shelf finisher. Refer to " «REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-388080-S17492642672011022800000) ".
  2. Remove the rear sunshade unit bolts, disconnect the rear sunshade unit connector and remove the rear sunshade unit.

Installation is in the reverse order of removal.

  1. Disconnect the negative and positive battery terminals, then wait at least 3 minutes.
  2. Remove front seat (RH/LH). Refer to " «REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-388069-S05964702822011022800000) " (w/o climate controlled seats) or " «REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-388069-S39263206372011022800000) " (with climate controlled seats).
  3. Remove the rear seat cushion. Refer to " «REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-388069-S28432622822011022800000) " for bench seat (w/o climate controlled seats), or " «REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-388069-S22655739822011022800000) " for bucket seat (w/o climate controlled seats), or " «REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-388069-S26904698082011022800000) " for bucket seat (with climate controlled seats).
  4. Remove front kicking plates (RH/LH), dash side lower finishers (RH/LH), rear kicking plates (RH/LH) and center pillar lower finishers (RH/LH). Refer to " «REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-388080-S40512752692011022800000) ".
  5. Remove center console assembly. Refer to " «REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-388073-S20200356272011022800000) ".
  6. Remove the instrument stay assembly bracket nuts (A), then remove the instrument stay assembly bracket (1).
  7. Remove the connector duct (RH/LH) (2) and the center connector duct (1) from heater and cooling unit. Refer to " «EXPLODED VIEW»(ref-388081-S24461721142011022800000) ". <=: Vehicle front
  8. Disconnect the drain hose (4) from the heater and cooling unit, then set aside.
  9. Remove the bolts (A) and nut, then remove the bracket (3).
  10. Detach the center console harness clips (A), then disconnect the electrical connectors (B) and position aside the center console harness (1).
  11. Remove the parking brake cable nuts (A) and bolt, then remove the parking brake cable and position it aside.
  12. Remove the yaw rate/side/decel G sensor. Refer to " «REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-388064-S16336195952011022800000) ".
  13. Remove the drivers air bag module. Refer to " «REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-388041-S06092050852011022800000) ".
  14. Remove the passenger air bag module. Refer to " «REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-388041-S11219933582011022800000) ".
  15. Remove the diagnosis sensor unit. Refer to " «REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-388041-S19976098832011022800000) ".
  16. Remove the parking brake cable nuts (A), then position the parking brake cables (2) aside.
  17. Remove the bracket nuts (B), then remove extension bracket (1) and center console rear bracket (3). <= Vehicle front
  18. Remove the CVT shift selector. Refer to " «REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-388054-S13135492552011022800000) ".
  19. Remove the CVT shift selector bracket bolts (A), then remove the CVT shift selector bracket (1).
  20. Remove front seat belt floor anchor bolt (RH/LH). Refer to " «REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-388078-S17162125332011022800000) ".
  21. Release the tab, then remove floor mat hook.
  22. Release the tabs and open harness clamps (six R/H and six L/H). Position harness and floor carpet cutout areas outside of harness clamps.
  23. Fold corners toward center, then remove floor carpet.

Installation is in the reverse order of removal.

CAUTIONDisconnect the negative and positive battery terminals and wait at least 3 minutes. Be careful not to bend headlining during removal or installation.

  1. Recline the front seats to the fully reclined position.
  2. Disconnect the negative and positive battery terminals, then wait at least 3 minutes.
  3. Remove front pillar finishers (RH/LH). Refer to " «REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-388080-S40512752692011022800000) ".
  4. Disconnect headlining harness and antenna feeder connectors.
  5. Remove center pillar upper and rear pillar finishers. Refer to " «REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-388080-S40512752692011022800000) ".
  6. Disconnect antenna amplifier and rear window defogger connectors.
  7. Release the molded clip, then remove front and rear assist grips.
  8. Remove the rear view mirror. Refer to " «REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-388083-S27465058782011022800000) ".
  9. Remove the sunvisors (RH/LH). Remove the sunvisor covers and screws. Disconnect the connector and remove each of the sunvisors.
  10. Insert a suitable thin tool (A) at approximately a 30 degree angle into the sunvisor holder notch on the front of the sunvisor holder (1) and press in the locking tab (B) to release it. While holding in lock tab (B), turn the sunvisor holder (1) 90 degrees to release it from the headliner. If the sunvisor holder (1) does not fully rotate, make sure that the suitable thin tool (A) is pressing in on the locking tab (B) and is not positioned under locking tab (B). Reinsert the suitable thin tool (A) as necessary to release the locking tab (B). <=: Front CAUTION: Do not force the sunvisor holder when removing as the locking tab may be damaged if the suitable thin tool is not positioned correctly.
  11. Remove front room/map lamp assembly. Refer to " «REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-388082-S21142773382011022800000) ".
  12. Release dual lock fasteners around the sunroof opening and the magnets in the center of the headlining. Release the sunroof clip using a suitable tool.
  13. Release the hidden clips near the rear edge of headliner using a suitable clip removal tool.
  14. Drop headlining down and carefully rotate into position. Remove headlining through rear door opening. CAUTION: When removing, two workers are required (one for each front and rear of headlining). Cover center console finisher upper surface with a shop cloth to prevent damage.
  15. The following components are integral to the headliner and are repaired only as an assembly: Personal lamp (LH/RH). Roof harness assembly. Antenna feeder assembly. Dual lock attachments Magnets

Installation is in the reverse order of removal.

TRUNK ROOM TRIM

  1. Release the latch, then position rear seatback (RH/LH) to the folded down position, if equipped.
  2. Remove trunk floor carpet clips (if equipped), then remove the trunk floor carpet.
  3. Remove the trunk net rear and the trunk net side (if installed).
  4. Remove the clips, then remove the trunk rear finisher.
  5. Remove the clips, then remove the upper trunk finisher.
  6. Remove the clips, then remove the trunk forward carpet (if equipped).
  7. Release the clips, then remove trunk side finishers (RH/LH).
  8. Remove spare tire foam board cover and the forward floor foam board spacer.
  9. Remove the trunk lid rubber bumpers (RH/LH), detach the trunk pull handle release, then remove the clips and remove trunk lid finisher.

Installation is in the reverse order of removal.
