Engine: Removal & Installation Nissan Altima U13

Removal

  1. Release fuel pressure. See «FUEL PRESSURE RELEASE»(ref-49198-S32789705022001011500000) . Disconnect negative battery cable. Drain oil and coolant. Disconnect all necessary coolant hoses, electrical connectors, vacuum hoses, fuel lines and control cables.
  2. Remove accessory drive belts. Remove alternator and adjusting bracket. Leaving hoses connected, remove power steering pump and A/C compressor. Remove alternator and adjusting bracket. Raise and support vehicle. Remove engine undercover. Remove axle shafts. Remove front exhaust pipe.
  3. Slightly raise engine. Disconnect and/or remove all engine mounts. Position jacks under oil pan and transaxle to support engine and transaxle assembly. Lower engine and transaxle assembly. Separate engine from transaxle.

Installation

Replace worn or separated rubber engine mounts. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. Tighten all bolts and nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
